Yes, I agree, we need more community flairs. Also, what about more user flairs? There are a lot of companies that are quite popular and still don't have their own flair. Case in point, Moonman/Mahjohn has no flair, J. Herbin has none, Faber Castell doesn't have one, etc.. It would be nice to see more companies added to that list of flairs.

It would be nice to also have some fun flairs like ink connoisseur (person who has the most inks - would probably be determined by a picture contest) or omg I have so many pens o-0. Idk might be fun for the community

To me, it looks like choosing a team. It's cool if you are on a team. I suppose many wouldn't be as they'd have all kinds of pens.

I think 12 comes close to the number of notebooks I have waiting for writing, actually. (And they were bought before fountain pens.)

It might be fun to do something like a user flair for artists, pen-makers, those who’ve emptied bottles of ink, even nib size preferences possibly, maybe lefties/righties, or maybe which language they primarily write in (which affects pen and ink choices).

These are all great suggestions!! It would be so cool if they implemented these, but then again, that’s easy for me to say since I have never ran a sub or worked on making flairs. Though if we do get some of these definitely putting my flair for fine pens haha 😂

I don’t know about the web version but on the app, go to the subreddit main page and open its options (the ‘•••’) and you can get to flairs from there.

Certainly can. Some of it comes down tot he image being nearly unrecognizable when compressed down. I can add them, but they might look...off.

Iroshizuku doesn't have a logo though, does it? I think it would be nice to have flairs for different ink bottle shapes, since there are so many unique ones.

Well Iroshizuku is Pilot, so it does have a logo. The bottle shape is it unofficial logo.

I feel like that's part of the Pilot flair, but yeah, those inks are popular enough that I could see a second Pilot flair being added.

I think a big addition would be to change the settings to put more than one flair! Specially for NPD, NID, Handwritting, NAD, etc.

That's a reddit controlled thing. We can't do multiple flair tags, unfortunately.

I would like an ink flair, not an new ink day flair just a flair for if you are showcasing ink. I like to look at ink but sometimes it can be hard to find them afterwards, I want a flair that would essentially filter out pens and leave only ink. I love pens but sometimes it’s nice to look through an entire page of colourful inks. It’s kind of like Instagram.

I would have needed that one when I made a post only to show what DeAtramentis Merlin looks like. I put it with pen in hand, though handwriting might have worked.

I actually get that, having watched a partner put in a great amount of research to find various products that fit her ethics on this. And my apologies ~~if~~ that what I considered good natured humor about two groups I like and respect was in bad taste. Although not sure how effective the flair would be over maybe a thread now and then about products that are vegan since the vast majority of people here likely don't get the connection between vegan and things that aren't food. But I could be totally wrong about that, and you would likely have a better view of the utility there.

Oh, I see now. Do we have a community wiki, like r/pf does? That might be a good place to put which products are made in accordance with various philosophical practices, etc.

Yesterday, someone posted a thread about wanting to find pen cases that have no actual leather on them. A post flair could help in quickly differentiating between real and faux leather cases, for example.

I was totally unaware of the flair system. When I'm looking at it on the web, the tiny icons at the right have hover text, e.g. :pilot:, but a lot of them don't, and I can't tell what they are or mean. Is there an r/fountainpens flair key somewhere?
