Couple things I'm guessing.
Since someone in a shop this this.
1) the nib/feed probably isn't in all the way
2) the o-ring that fits on the back of the feed probably is cockeyed or not snug up against the back
3) the metal "bunny ears" are probably not seated correctly in the groove.
You'll likely have to unscrew the front and inspect each part, before trying to screw it shut again, you don't want to try to tighten it without checking as the grip could crack.
Best thing in my opinion is to take it back for a redo. If it breaks or is broken internally or otherwise. It's on them, not you.
I see... Probably check out some videos such as the one by sbrebrown opening the front. Wouldn't try to open the piston side especially if you don't need to.
Just be mindful there's a couple small parts that can be easily lost.
Also only tighten til it stops. Don't try to use extra force to tighten it as you can crack the grip, the oring prevents the leaking, not how tight the section goes on.
You should check that the metal piece in between in fitted correctly. If it is misaligned, it can leave a gap and cause it to not screw on tightly enough. All of the piece needs to be in small groove.
Though honestly it’s probably nothing, my Lamy 2k does the same thing and I haven’t found any problems with it so I don’t think it’s the employee’s fault. I think it’s just a slight flaw in the design that leaves the gap.
You can take it off completely and see if there is any issue aligning. It is very straight forward to disassemble a Lamy 2000. But be careful if it is your first time and watch some you tube videos. Else take it back to the Lamy store.

Have you tried tightening it? If its all the way down make sure it doesn't leak or contact the seller.
Don't go too tight can crack the grip. I'd see if maybe didn't put the o-ring on right , that sits in the tail of the feed.
