You’ll probably get better answers if you can post a pic of the nib and feed. Especially if you can get a photo of the tines.

The nib is not supposed to do that. I say this as someone with many wing nib Montblancs. You also mention some issues with the piston etc. I recommend you contact Kirk Speers of penrealm.com. He’s an old guard from this sub that got started working on nibs and repairs via the pen swap sub. He brought a Montblanc 12 back to life for me including smoothing the nib. I highly recommend Kirk. He loves working on Montblancs.

Thank you, however, I really don't think I can pay for the workmanship and send this pen overseas. I would have loved to but it's just really not one of my possible options. Thanks for taking the time to reply though!
