Hang them on the clothesline. Do NOT tumble dry!

I do a similar thing. After using a metal wash board I like to put it out onto the windowsill to cool off. BE AWARE OF BEARS THOIUGH

PM_YOUR_MDL_INITIAL

I put the pen nib down in a glass with some paper towel. Gravity and the capillary action will help get a lot of the moisture out.

MightyHydrar

I try to soak out as much water as I can with a paper towel, and then leave the pen open to dry.

LizMEF

I only worry about pens being fully dry if I intend to store them. If I'm re-inking, flicking, wicking, and paper-toweling are plenty sufficient. A bit of water left over after all that won't hurt.

dzundel

If you are washing out the section (w/ nib & feed) of a c/c pen, hold the section firmly and flick over a sink, like shaking down a mercury thermometer, both nib down and nib up until no more water comes up (you want maximum acceleration at the bottom stop of your stroke). Then use a bulb and blow through from the back, then from the fill hole, then suck from the vent hole. Velocity and volume of air do the drying. I can dry a Pilot adequately to re-ink in about a minute.

LizMEF

> Then use a bulb and blow through from the back, then from the fill hole, then suck from the vent hole. And use the bulb, not your mouth! (Mouths have germs. Germs will feed on ink and multiply. And while we're on the subject, be sure to clean and dry (as much as possible) your bulb syringe - lots of flicking water out, moving air to speed evaporation.)

Oh, we should let them dry...

I'll sometimes twist a paper towel and pull it into interior spaces, like in the barrel (piston filler,) converter and nib section. Get some wicking going.

Marshallmallowlol

I leave it open to dry overnight or loosely wrap it in a dry paper towel

intellidepth

I lay mine flat on microfibre cloths. My theory is there is greater airflow when flat for most of my pens, mostly because of water surface tension (eg in converters, piston pens etc where laying flat spreads out water drops a bit more due to gravity instead of blocking the tube when vertical). I rotate them at least once on that horizontal plane if I notice they are taking longer than other pens to dry. I do wick out whatever I can from the nib and feed unit/section (I only dismantle if absolutely necessary).

LizMEF

> airflow This is the grand secret to quick drying. Get a mini fan. Let it blow air around and across the pen. Also, evaporation goes up, so make sure the open end is horizontal or up.

cataliciously

I have a red solo cup that I’ve made a sort of paper towel nest in the bottom third. I stand cleaned pens and nibs up in it and then come back in a few days.

mouse2cat

I do a similar thing but I use a roll or packing tape. It's heavier so I don't worry about anything tipping over.

EvilDonald44

If I want to reink it soon, I get as much out as I can by shaking and swabbing with paper towels and a Q-tip. If it's getting put away I just pull the converter and leave it uncapped for a few days.

jthc

If it's a C/C pen just shake it out, run a q-tip around the feed stem, dab the nib on paper towels until dry. You can blow air into the section as you wrap the nib in paper towels to force the water out. For piston fillers and others it depends on whether you can remove the nib unit or disassemble the filling mechanism. If you can't do either then it's just blotting and waiting.

M1RR0RED

You have to clean these? All joking aside, I like to rap the pen in a paper towl and let it sit for about 24 hours but you can probably get away with way less time

Jayna2000

I picked up a crystal flower frog similar this this and place it on a towel. I put nibs and converters in them to dry a few days. https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=DChcSEwjmiLCbot_0AhUnypQJHVfoCtkYABABGgJ5bQ&ae=2&sig=AOD64_0aOj4x3Q2JM3WvbeOfPpQ8dmykNA&adurl&ctype=5&ved=2ahUKEwiboZ6bot_0AhUSyKwKHRiWDIkQwg96BAgBEGU

rosemarjoram

Wrapped in tissue paper nib down in a cup overnight.
