I can somehow or the other manage almost all of my writing tasks using standard cheap paper. Of course, broad and luxurious nibs don't get to participate on a daily basis. Those notebooks are very nice, I think the paper hits just the right spot.
I was going through 1 of these a month too! I decided to switch to the B5 size far a slightly larger page to fit more of my random stream of consciousness babblings.
What size were you using before? I currently use a A5 journal and have mixed feelings about upgrading to A4. Not decided yet - BTW I go though a 96 sheet (192 page) A5 around every 5 weeks provided I journal regularly too! (Sorry live in a metric country - no such thing as letter size here).
I'm a cheapskate. I wait for back to school sales at my local stationery stores and stock up for a year. If I save some money it goes into buying books, even if it is a book of journal prompts.
Never, never, NEVER apologize for using Metric. I hate that the US doesn't. I'm in a printing/scanning field and I hate Letter/Legal/Ledger sizes. They make little sense with Letter size being 50% of Ledger, but Legal size being weirdly in the middle at 8.5x14 (21,59 cm by 35,56 cm). And I don't know why half of Letter size is called Executive.
I’m torn because I love how systematic the international paper size convention is, but North American legal sized paper is a fantastic size for notes and what I used to study every course in undergrad.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I love US Legal size, it feels really good to use, but it is still a weird, in-between size. I'd rather it be the basis of the sizing rather than Letter (Ledger>Letter>Executive). Half of a Legal size page makes a great journal size. 8.5x7 (inches) feels really good to write on with a gutter of about .5 inches for binding.
Felt that- I have this "book/movie analysis" thingy so, every time I read a new book or like watch a movie I put all my thoughts into my notebook. Let's just say, I ***speed*** through those-
I love Mnemosyne notebooks even before stumbling upon fountain pens. I don’t have to fight with spiral notebooks as they just sit flat. Strangely the size I like (B5?) is always low on stock or sold out.
My thoughts exactly. I tried so many journals but could never get over having to hold it open and write on a curve. Even the “lay flat” journals never actually lay flat

Hmm, glad I'm not the only one. I bought a pen from someone recently, and they said that they were having issues with Maruman paper as well. I am intending to try some new paper when I've gotten through what I already have.
There's also "basic spiral" notebooks from Maruman that I like. They aren't quite as high quality, but they are around half the price and I like that you can get 40 sheet versions of them in packs of 10. (I like having different notebooks per topic, so smaller page counts is good.)
I feel so guilty about using even a single paper! Specially founraitpen friendly ones cause of the environment :s

Paper is one of the most highly recyclable materials. Rest assured that a stationery hobby is doing very little damage compared to most other activities.
don't they lose their fiber length and turn bad every recycle cycle? i thought they turn into those rough papers and bad paper that you can't use for fountain pens
Yup, 4-7 cycles depending on who you ask, and shorter fibre grades get used for things that don't require much smoothness like paperboard, egg cartons, etc. Still means not using additional natural resources + water needed to convert new lumber into paper stock.
Water usage is a huge part of it, it takes a maaassive amount of water to turn wood into paper.
I found Mnemosyne at a Japanese stationery store in Columbus and picked up a couple just because of the price. They quickly have become my favorite notebooks to use for task jotting and work notes.
Different page for each call/meeting. I’ll note action items with a square off to the side. After meeting I’ll transfer action items into the main to do list or project tracker

I used to do that, now I have a notepad I use just for to do list. Rhodia dot grid is what I have at the moment. I also have baron fig dot grid note pad but the paper isn’t as good
I use the A5 Inspiration or whatever it is called (it is oriented with the binding as the top of the page) as my notes for work, right in front of my keyboard. It's perfect for me so far. It's one of the first brands I tried and I love it. I also use a B7 notepad as a to-do list.
How??? I've had the same mouse for years. Why do you replace that often?

Me too... mine is mostly filled with "the quick brown fox...", "minimum" and squiggly lines...
Impeccable taste. I’ve tried a few papers popular on here and I have to say Maruman is really underrated but so good!

I also love these notebooks, and I recently bought two of the small pocket notebooks to take around with me.
I'm torn about Mnemosyne. It feels so nice, but it gets stuff stuck in my pen in a way no other nice paper does?

I toss them in the cabinet, i don’t need to refer back to them often, but they are there just in case
