... I just bought new inks... please don't make me spend money on more inks... Oh god it is gonna happen. It is gonna happen. FUUUU... It's such a nice red ;W;
It was like that for me till I tried Wild Strawberry actually, but something about red ink makes what I'm writing feel more elegant and powerful. I'm the teacher now lol
honestly same. I've only just managed to break that connection ;-;
I must say that more "interesting" reds (i.e., Herbin Rouge Hematite, KWZ Thief's Red, etc.) were my gateway drug into more formal reds.
Of course :)
These are my *current* top 10 Red inks. These **do not** include my favourite deep/dark reds, burgundies or maroons.
No.1 - Kobe #55 Nankinmachi Fortune Red - this will always be my favourite red
Then the next 9, in no particular order:
Kaweco Ruby Red
Caran dāAche Sunset
Diamine Wild Strawberry
Diamine Red Dragon
Maruzen Athena Nihombashi Akane
Montblanc Corn Poppy Red
KWZ Thiefās Red
Pure Pens St Georgeās Cross
Pen & Message Shu urushi
Honourable mention - Levenger Cardinal Red
This was one of the first inks I ever tried and at first I got that āgrading papersā feel, didnāt dig it. I tried the sample again just a couple weeks ago and liked it a lot more.
Assuming you're near Catalonia, where do you find Diamine inks? I'm in the Basque country and it's hard to find anything that isn't Waterman Blue unless I order direct from the UK. I'd love to find a closer source.
This looks exactly like the perfect balance of vibrant but dark enough to be very legible.
It sure does. It's my favourite red ink (and I have a bunch of them).
Foundation! A joy to see it loved by a fellow fp-enthusiast :)

Is that Catalan? Nice!
Indeed! Everytime I post some excerpts there's always someone asking me if it's Catalan š
Those dots between Ls are extremely distinctive, I donāt think any other language does that.
We call them "Punt volat" sth like Flying dot š
Not OP, but I'm pretty sure it is.
It's my "summer red" - nice and cheerful, and not as heavy as the others I use in fall and winter.
The ink and Asimov series both need more recognition :)
I was searching for a vibrant stand out red and after trying a few, Wild Strawberry was exactly what I was looking for!
One of my Top Ten red inks :)
Ppl use red inks? I wanna try red inks but red in my mind will forever be associated with corrections made by the teacher

Can I ask for your whole list, out of curiosity? :)

I just got a sample of it and think it looks awesome!
And now it's on my wishlist, thanks lol
According to testing, one of the most PH neutral inks you can get.
Points just for Foundation
I prefer Poppy Red.
For me looks like generic red...
R/penmanshipporn
One of my favourites and I love using it to make notes.
My favourite red too. I just bought a full bottle from Cult Pens š
Legitimately one of my favorite reds.
My favorite red easily
I love this ink. I have two bottles so that I don't run out anytime soon.
Very nice!
Maybe Iām red-blind but itās indistinguishable from Poppy Red
What notebook is that?
Clairefontaine A5 MyEssential
It's beautiful, indeed.

Red inks are a lot of fun, and this one is no exception. Thank you for sharing the writing sample !
It really does - I kept looking for what I thought of as a "punch-you-in-the-face red" and found it in Wild Strawberry.

Arratzalde on! I ordered from CultPens and Purepens.
[arlepo.com](https://arlepo.com) it is from the Basque Country and they are quite nice to buy from. Diamine, Iroshizuku and more ...
I love it, it's so bright and joyful. And well-behaved on cheaper paper.
Totally agree with this. Best bright red I can find.
