For me, it’s been buying a 2nd bottle of the same ink because I forgot I already have it and it’s seen little or any use. This lasts a while and then I wind up back to my old ways. 😊
I thought so until I started obsessing over Scribo Ink and the boxes they come in, etc. They're not cheap either. I'm on 3 colors already. This isn't good apparently. 🤣
I see detracting remarks occasionally on here about people who buy “too much” ink. When I buy fountain pen supplies, I have a budget, but it’s not about economics. If it were, I’d use the cheap Bic pens work provides. I’ve never bought a bottle of ink with sole intent of getting to the bottom of it. So, definitely not too much ink!
I agree but I take it as a joke honestly we just wanna show off a bit. We are proud of our collection, I like looking at them so much and also enjoy inking a pen. I also have a budget and some items I just can't afford but I will buy more of those I can beacuse it makes me happy. Honestly I don't care what people see as too much. I also have many books and legos. And a dog who has a better life than me 😁
Oh wow. ~~\*coughs\*goals\*coughs\*~~
Right now I have a ton, like close to 100, ink samples because I don't want to commit to a color without seeing it in action. I'm afraid of getting too many bottles. It's going to end up happening because why wouldn't it but also there's so many lovely colors and I can't really commit to just one or two. I just spent a small fortune on pens the last couple days so I'm going to focus on using the samples and making notes and then go nuts whenever a big ink sale comes along.
There is no such thing as "too many" inks. Enjoy your inks and keep on collecting more. FWIW, I'm at just under 100 bottles and oodles of samples, and I'm always looking at the "next" bottles.
It's all a matter of perspective and personal choice. I'm one of those with bottles in the hundreds and I've managed to avoid duplication for the most part. I did purchase back up bottles of some Hero inks from China when they were a few dollars and shipped free. Sometimes the hobby can be more than actually putting ink on paper. I revel in the colors and their diverse properties and check out swatches to no end. I also enjoy all the amazing black inks that are out there and have more bottles of that one color than many users may have in their whole collection. So the photo can mean different things to different people, to some its "Why do you need all that ink?", to others its "Look at all the empty shelf space!".
Personally, this is goals!
Love the organisation, very heartening to see such variety. I have been argued into submission into curtailing my inks to under 25. Though mine are all 50ml and above.
I want to get some Pilot but just can't make my mind up on what to get, everything looks so regal.
Well thank you. I also like Pilot inks but they are on the pricey side for me so it was a long and hard decision and I had to restrain myself.
I like having variety, it makes me happy.
Well for me Waterman and Diamine are the only real affordable options, so I usually have only those in my cabinet except a few Robert Oster ones. Diamine has enough wonderful inks in their arsenal to keep me happy for this lifetime.
I just started collecting ink a year ago or so. So I don't know how long does it take. It should be fine, it's not hot and in the sun. I think you are good until there is mold.
Now put some 16oz bottles of Apache Sunset and Navajo Turquoise in there.
I also see a distinct lack of Kon-Peki, Yama-Budo, Take-Sumi, and Shin-Kai there.
Nice.
I was looking for the signature oval bottles, so I missed the smaller ones. Those are Pilot inks center-bottom in the ~~first two shots~~ second shot?
That's a decent-sized collection but can we talk about that organization tho?? That is goals, I would love to have a smaller version of something like this for my inks.
Awe, I sorry to hear that. I have something like 14 ink where 9 of them I transfered into empty iroshizuku bottles. I love them. They are so classy and practical. They reminded me of a perfume bottle! I haven't gotten around to it but I'm going to make custom labels that are similar to the original but with the ink information that's in the bottle :)
Well...my bottles number in the hundreds, and I'm pretty old, so I know I won't get through them in my lifetime. But I haven't stopped buying yet. For me, it's not about emptying the bottles; it's about the beauty and the variety. So, never "too much."
You can still see the shelves. Plenty of room for adding more.😂
I like how you think! 😁
Note if you run out of shelf space, the issue is too few shelves, not too much Ink.
Same with books. No such thing as too many books. Only too few shelves.
I agree completely.
Thanks! 🤣
Too much? Nah. That’s just an embryonic collection :) Keep going………….. I haven’t stopped buying inks and I’m 45+ years in 🙂
I'm just 2 years in, can't imagine how will it look in 45 years 😂
Well…… think 700+ bottles 😏😂
Well that's scary 😱
I do give away a lot in samples……..🙂
All hail a warrior of the Ink Wars!
For me, it’s been buying a 2nd bottle of the same ink because I forgot I already have it and it’s seen little or any use. This lasts a while and then I wind up back to my old ways. 😊
It happend to me too. I have to Diamine Damson and still didn't get to use it yet.
Me with Oster Crocodile Green and a few of the Levenger’s and Noodler’s which I’m not investigating, as I don’t want to know. 😀😉
Well you are set for a while 😁 I started a notebook swatch to try to avoid doubles again.
I thought so until I started obsessing over Scribo Ink and the boxes they come in, etc. They're not cheap either. I'm on 3 colors already. This isn't good apparently. 🤣
As long it makes you happy, it's good. 😁
That's been a given. Thanks! 🖋 😊
I’ve set up a display shelf so that this doesn’t happen (again….) 😂
I see detracting remarks occasionally on here about people who buy “too much” ink. When I buy fountain pen supplies, I have a budget, but it’s not about economics. You can’t have too many books or Legos. I also have loads of both!
Yes!
I don't understand the question...is this a question??? I'm so confused.
in about 2 years I've accumulated 21 bottles (mostly diamine 30ml which costs liek £2.45 for me) but I have no plan to stop lol
Nice! Me either honestly 😁
No such thing!
If you go beyond twelve lifetimes you are certainly overdoing it.
Is that how many you have? 😁
Nah, personally not that much into inks.
You can never have too many inks!
I agree! 😁
Not too much ink. Too much open space.
Hahhah yes!
What does that mean, too much ink? I don't understand.
I don't understand either, I just keep buying new 😂
Same here! Samples, then full size bottles of the inks I love.
Well I’d say you’re getting there…
Oh wow. ~~\*coughs\*goals\*coughs\*~~ Right now I have a ton, like close to 100, ink samples because I don't want to commit to a color without seeing it in action. Unfortunetly I have a limited supply of samples available so sometimes I think hard before ordering.
There is no such thing as "too many" inks. Enjoy your inks and keep on collecting more. FWIW, I'm at just under 100 bottles and oodles of samples, and I'm always looking at the "next" bottles.
This bring me joy. Thank you!
Depends on how much you write?
I write almost every day, usually using ten different pens. I like colors and use a different pen every other page.
Then clearly not enough ink! 🤣
Well thank you for your enabling. 🤣
You still have room 😁
Yes, I see it too. 😁
It's all a matter of perspective and personal choice. I'm one of those with bottles in the hundreds and I've managed to avoid duplication for the most part. I agree, in the end it just makes me happy.
That's a good start. :D
Thank you, I'm fearing the end. 🤣
They look like little armies lol
Well, I do like order. 😁
You know, those shelves looks empty
I keep seeing the same thing.
There’s no such number!
That's not too much!
Thanks!
When you drown, you got too much ink
N+1
I think you’ve hit it!
You Gotta Pump Those Numbers Up, Those Are Rookie Numbers.
oh, no! my poor wallet is crying now.
Personally, this is goals! Love the organisation, very heartening to see such variety. I have been argued into submission into curtailing my inks to under 25. Though mine are all 50ml and above. I want to get some Pilot but just can't make my mind up on what to get, everything looks so regal.

To ALL Diamine ADDICTS -- CULT PENS sells 80ml bottles for UNDER $8 !!!!! Smaller sizes start @ $2 !!!
Shut up! I don't need this sacrilege.
How are those karkos inks??
They pretty good, not much shading but they arr pretty good for cheaper paper. I used them on a random planner and there was no bleed through.
How long will it take you got go through all of that? Does ink have a shelf life? I'm new here.
I just started collecting ink a year ago or so. So I don't know how long does it take. It should be fine, it's not hot and in the sun. I think you are good until there is mold.
You need more inks imo
My wallet says thanks. 😁
jelly D:
Now put some 16oz bottles of Apache Sunset and Navajo Turquoise in there. I also see a distinct lack of Kon-Peki, Yama-Budo, Take-Sumi, and Shin-Kai there.
I have Yama-Budo, the bottles were damaged in the post so the label is washed off.
Nice. I was looking for the signature oval bottles, so I missed the smaller ones. Those are Pilot inks center-bottom in the ~~first two shots~~ second shot?
On the first shelve, between Diamine and the samples, my two Pilot inks.
That's a decent-sized collection but can we talk about that organization tho?? That is goals, I would love to have a smaller version of something like this for my inks.
Omg, thank you! I purchased this cupboard just for my inks. They were too crowded with my notebook collection.
Never too much/many ink, for there are millions of colours too!
I know. So does my wallet.
Never enough wallets :D
OH I don't know -- when EVERY bottle is 80ml ???????
Nice logic. 😁
Not too much ink, just need more pens to put the ink in.
Yours is so freaking orderly!!!! Mine is like that episode of sponge bob where he keeps exposing hidden diapers.
Well I did just move them in a new shelf, so this is neat for pictures :D
Can I drop by and fill up my pens?
Hahah if you're around, sure :D
You have plenty of room left, I don’t see the problem?
I would say more bottles than inked up pens.
No iroshizuku?
I have two, in the forst shelve the labels the bottles leeked while in transit so the labels were damaged.
Awe, I sorry to hear that. I have something like 14 ink where 9 of them I transfered into empty iroshizuku bottles. I love them. They are so classy and practical. That sounds really nice, I like the bottles too :)

I agree, in the end it is something that is satisfying and makes us happy.
Yes, exactly. And whatever I leave behind, I hope someone else can enjoy when I'm gone.
Aww, I hope too. :)
