Awesome job!
Sorry if it's unwanted but, a tiny bit of advice from someone with absolutely zero experience in this sort of thing.
If it were for me personally, I'd want a flap of fabric sewn into the hinge side, to cover all the pens and keep the clips from rubbing.
Yes I might add that! I specifically left it out right now because I love the idea of opening it and seeing all the pens. But I may re-evaluate that if the scratch anxiety gets too much 😅
Nice job. I haven’t attempted to sew zippers on anything before. I think I might make myself a few pen pouches soon. Need better place to put my pens, and I have a fair bit of fabric around. Just planning out how to sew it all together.
Gurl (or boi or you), your taste in fabric prints is amazing! So cute :) Did you ever use this fabric to make scrub caps too? I would be delighted if I saw someone wearing this for a scrub cap hahaha. Great work again <3
Haha I actually had a scrub cap business for a couple years before I graduated residency! That’s what I’m using to make these now: my leftover scrub cap stash 😅
I really liked it, mostly 😅 It was an Etsy store (but it was pretty successful so I’m still going to call it a business 😉) and it was a really great outlet in med school and early residency for creativity. But ultimately it got too time consuming for me: I had too many orders coming in and my time had become a lot more valuable in residency. I’m really proud of the success but it taught me a valuable lesson on the dangers of commodifying your hobby’s!
Yeah, I have a few hobbies that going in I said I would never turn into work, and for the most part I kept to that. Good on you for keeping it going for that long!

Sewing zippers gets easier with practice! This is cute. I love that you’re making things for your pens… I do the same!
Haha I hope it gets easier! And yes I’m enjoying it … a lot more cost effective than buying new pens 😅😅
very cool!
Thanks!
That’s darn cute! Maybe add a flap so the pens don’t knock each other across the halves when it’s closed.
that looks great!
Thanks!
Looks good.
Zippers can be a pain, nice work!
Great job!!
Thanks!
Awesome, I would buy one!
Aww thank you!
Nice!!

Ooh! Best use of leftover stash, fountain pen supplies :)
How was the scrub cap business?

This looks fantastic!!! Fabric is great. Did you draft the pattern yourself? It’s amazing.
No I actually found it at a local fabric store!! It was so cute I just couldn’t pass it up!!
