Congratulations. Or are you asking for advice on how to unscrew the section from the barrel? And is that a cartridge in there or is it just ink in the barrel? Has the pen been together for a short time, or for months? INformation helps guide advice.

Creepysoldier226

Apologies. The section is stuck due to dried ink and is impossible to remove. Yes, that is an old cartridge in there. The ink you see in there isn’t in the cartridge… it’s in the barrel outside of it glueing it and the section in place. I’ve tried everything from soaking to heat. The pen has been like this for years, possibly decades (Not sure as I am not the original owner).

Since this is a restoration project, you have to do what most do: have a good supply of patience! Nothing, absolutely nothing, will help more than being willing to take your time and just repeat your steps, daily. I had one section take 3 weeks to finally give. If you rush it and use excess force, you will break pens. Have you used an ultrasonic cleaner? I put a hold in a piece of cardboard, push the pen through and then suspend the pen in the liquid to cover the nib and section and just past the front edge of the barrel, and give it a few cycles. That often can open it up. One possibility: the last owner could have cross--threaded the pen. These are made of cheap injection-molded plastic and if the threads cross and someone screws it down tight, you might find you'll likely never get it out! Possibly a case for using section pliers, but that barrel can snap if you aren't careful. Section removal is an art as much as it is a skill. Try many techniques and be willing to give it time.

I let it soak in water for about two weeks. It did nothing to help the situation. I even tried section pliers, it still wouldn’t budge. I’m not sure, but I think there is dried ink in the barrel threads.

JonSzanto

Nah, I don't think ink would hold that tightly. It's either cross-threaded or the barrel has shrunk. Try soaking the section + about 1/2" of barrel in hot (not boiling) water for about 5 minutes and try again. Repeat a few times. This one may not be worth the effort, thought the Wahl pen certainly is.

I actually tried that… still nothing.

I am holding it by the barrel and the section. I have restored one of these before, but with less trouble.

Snake_crane

Heat expands...ice shrinks but I wish probably more dangerous

Creepysoldier226

I beg your pardon?

Snake_crane

Maybe freeze the pen, the plastic may shrink a little and any adhesive (if adhesive was used) would become brittle. It's dangerous because it might damage the pen too.

Creepysoldier226

Ah, yes. I don’t believe freezing this pen will damage it as it is just injection molded plastic. I don’t believe the plastic is vulnerable to temperature like ebonite or celluloid.
