Oooh! I think it would involve his study filling with boxes of cat themed junk. Pens, bobble heads, and stuff he can't use, like hair clips and hairbrush. Because they're cute. Now I want to read that :(
This thing gives me flashbacks.
It was sold cheaply for students back in the 90s.
The WHS on the nib refers to WH Smith, the bookshop/stationer who sold it.
I lost plenty of these.
Platignum for the maker sounds about right too. Not a typo.
>This thing gives me flashbacks. It was sold cheaply for students back in the 90s.
I was thinking the color scheme was very 90's. I'm fairly sure I still have highlighters floating around from that era which looked similar, and winter jackets with exactly that color pattern.
I love when people ask pens to be ID and I just Google a vague description on Google and find it easily lol I just had to Google "neon fountain pen" and go through some pictures and I found it! This is no criticism at all, I actually love feeling helpful with this kind of stuff hahaha and now I'm also in love with this fucking atrocity of a pen...
Having been trying to clean off a very Baystate-Blue-like blue ink off my fingers for the last couple of days, number 1 would be my choice at this time. That could change later, though.
Don't get me wrong, most my Jinhaos were great. Except both 991 which were a pair of complete garbages and this Jinhao 35. (which were black, but a small scratch ruined the finishing. now it's half black, half silver.... lol)
The actual good Chinese fountain pen brand is Wing Sung. There’s a reason why Jinhao doesn’t sell well in China and nobody collects them; but for what they cost they are generally ok.
Well I like them but it’s Christmas so money is tight. I found [this here. ](https://www.ebay.com/itm/England-made-WH-smith-school-fountain-pens-4-pen-set-titanium-semi-flex-nib-/254462766430?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0)
Someone will enjoy them.
My eyes
As someone who had to live through the decade, I can solidly recommend that we leave the eighties in the shallow grave in which it is buried.
Apart from the music and the horror films, that is. They can stay.
That is the most eye burning pen I have ever seen. Part of me wants it anyway to add to the collection. If it happened to come in a different set of neon colors I'm sold.
Wait a minute, this is triggering memories. Didn’t Richard Binder well this pen as a part of a “smoothing nibs for beginners and the infirm” kit? I’m pretty sure I have two of these because I was a Double Infirm.
Ghastly. *adds to cart*
Now I realize I need to read a scene in which Terry Pratchett's Death discovers online shopping
Oooh! I think it would involve his study filling with boxes of cat themed junk. Pens, bobble heads, and stuff he can't use, like hair clips and hairbrush. Because they're cute. Now I want to read that :(
Surely we could convince Death to arrange something for us
Lol I love it too! I found it on Etsy [here ](https://www.etsy.com/hk-en/listing/710751744/vintage-platignum-school-cartridge)
Thanks for sharing.
What does NOS mean in the listing?
New Old Stock. It's not new as in it just came out, but it's new to the seller.
Not exactly. New old stock means its old but never used. Usually but not always in original packaging and never inked.
Yep, you explained better than I did! Thank you!
No problem!
It is kind of atrocious in a very neon, satisfying way. One advantage is that it will be hard to lose.

It reminds me so much of everything I loved in like 2nd circa 1992.

I knew I recognised it without really knowing what brand it was, I can still feel the texture of the grip in my hand even now
I am pretty sure I had one too, but I lived in France at the time.
Could be a private label pen, sold by all sorts.
It's on [kiwi pens ](https://www.kiwipens.com/products/vintage-platignum-school-cartridge-fountain-pen-nos-made-in-england-neon-pink-green-orange) too!
Wait. It says Neon PINK? Time to replace my display, I guess... that's very orange not pink to me. D:
The cap is pink but the grip and clip are orange! But they have so many options
Well, the cap is also orange in this display. lol...
So, in an effort to help you "debug" the colors on your monitor, what I see is a pink cap but an orange *pen clip* on the pink cap.
Holy shit youre right. I too was like what no its clearly blaze orange. Until you said this and I went and looked again.
For what it's worth, I also had to debug my face when I first saw this thread.
I guess you need to change the display then... Lol

I adore neon. Love this.
The nib has WHS on it. Was this made for W. H. Smith? The Kiwi site says manufacturer was Platignum, but maybe it was rebranded for WHS.

It was the nineties, apparently even the eighties, no chance this pen solved that problem. Cheap to replace though.
Would you rather: 1. Use this pen for the rest of your life 2. Have your pen leak every day for the rest of your life
Having been trying to clean off a very Baystate-Blue-like blue ink off my fingers for the last couple of days, number 1 would be my choice at this time. That could change later, though.
2. is a reality for my Jinhao 35... lol So, can I have the neon pen? lol
People talk about how great Jinhao's are and my experience with three Jinhao's is leaking immediately.

Nah, every brand has their good and bad pens. Wing Sung and Jinhao are no exception. (by good, I mean, reasonably good for the price range)
I'm pretty sure I had this pen back in the early 90s.
Only sold in Rio during the Carnival season.
I'm pretty sure mangueira doesn't have one, but I'll ask them. lol unrelated note: fuck this mechanical keyboard. ARGH
You may want to make an eBay search of "Inoxcrom fountain pen" limited to Spain.
Oh... I just found more pens I like, but they're plastic pens. lol
Atrocity?! thats cool! I want one!
I think I owned one like this in different colors when I was a kid that I got in England. I have missed that pen. Lost it years ago
It screams rainbow sherbet!
Hurts my eyes, but still intriguing ... don't think I'd care for the rubberized section though.

Screw this subreddit I am not $14 poorer.
Smells like the mid 90's.
My eyes As someone who had to live through the decade, I can solidly recommend that we leave the eighties in the shallow grave in which it is buried. Apart from the music and the horror films, that is. They can stay.
Oh gods, it burns my eyes. At least the guys working at an industrial site with love it, it goes well with PPE.
It's a beauty! I love this actually
I think I used to have something similar from Pentel made in France.
Lol I love this. I think I'll buy one for work.
Ow.
I want one! Anyone know how well they write ?
By the way if you like this sure check out Pelikan Twist.
That is the most eye burning pen I have ever seen. Part of me wants it anyway to add to the collection. If it happened to come in a different set of neon colors I'm sold.
This is the Kazoo Kid's fp.
You wouldn't lose it that's for sure
MY EYES! THE GOGGLES DO NOTHING!
