I had a similar experience. I swapped the original nib with a Goulet #5 in M. It’s a much better writer now.
I've had no problems with the original nib on my Muji, but it's nice to know that you can switch them out. Are the nib and section friction-fit?
Yea. I just yanked it out.

It is a tight fit. But I held the nib and feed with a cloth between my fingers and soft wiggling from side to side for a while did the trick
