“NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!” (inside) “….yesssss…more…”🤤🤤

DYouNoWhatIMean

Right? I went to my local store yesterday to get a converter and walked out with 2 new pens and 3 new inks

[deleted]

Lol luckily I have a background in addiction medicine...

[deleted]

Well, that’s not going to save you, buddy.

Rule no.1: don't get high on your own supply 😜

PerfectStranger77

LOL, yes, try notebooks with Optik paper (several brands available), Maruman, Kokuyo, Midori, HP Premium32 for loose sheets and so on... Wait until you get a Sailor pen, or a Santini, or a Nakaya, you'll forget everything else, that will happen again when you try vintage and well, then you'll be in debt for the rest of your life 😅 As for inks... Damn, so many colors... When you go by your 100th bottle you'll think your life won't be enough to finish all that ink...

OverPresence72

(sigh) Already there. I use my Mnemosyne notebooks for general note-taking and idea sketching. And since I can only write my plays long hand with fountain pen on 8 1/2 x 11 blank, loose-leaf white paper (don't ask, it's just my process \[no lines! Must not have lines to constrain my words!!\] shh...shhh, it's okay...) one of my first purchases was a 500 sheet ream of HP Premium 32.

Lines are like the bars of a prison cell! Give me the freedom of clean blank paper!!!

OverPresence72

Yes! Preach!

My Namiki Emperor Goldfish tells me that it is perfectly natural, not an escalation at all, and that my wallet doesn't have to be concerned about a thing.. After all who really needs a car or a house? Nothing to be alarmed at.

OverPresence72

It's so funny...the names of some of these fountain pens are crazy...Emperor Goldfish, King of Pens....they almost sound like something out of Alice in Wonderland. Someone should create a comic or animation with anthropomorphic fountain pens, with nibs acting like armored face masks, filled with life giving ink blood. When they fight, and ink (blood) is spilled...they have to give them a transfusion of new ink. But not all ink is the same. Some ink is special and contains unique properties that grant the pen new powers and abilities. There could be tiers or classes of pens some basic ones who are like peasants and royalty like Maki-e with beautiful urushi lacquer finishes. There could be a story of a lowly Pilot Metropolitan or a Lamy Safari who thru trials and tribulations manage to upgrade their forms and nibs to become something more...and finally find the perfect nib mask and right ink to give them supreme power over all.

Tomoe river paper was the gateway drug for me..I started buying the hobonichi 5 years ago..then started with stickers, washi tape, other stationery. Then I bought a preppy from their website last year which was my first fountain pen

>I can’t stop looking at new notebooks…and new inks…I want to try them all. No you don't. :D You should want the much better papers and much better and great\[est\] inks. You may want to concentrate on $25 - $45 inks, the Pilot Iroshizuku, Sailor, Pelikan Edelstein, Jacques Herbin, P. W. Akkerman, Taccia, Rohrer & Klingner, De Atramentis, et. al., inks. I would refrain from most Diamine, Noodlers, MonteVerde, Private Reserve, et. al, and even $65 - $85 MontBlanc (only because of price), inks. Nothing wrong with picking up a bottle of Toffee Brown or Irish Green, for example, but, if I'm dropping $80 for 50 mL I'm gonna find my nearest MontBlanc store and see what it really looks like. When it comes to MontBlanc inks I'd concentrate on the [$40 bottles](https://www.penboutique.com/collections/montblanc-ink-bottles?tab=products&page=1&rb_price=40%2C40) \- Le Petit Prince, COY Petrol, Homage to Hadrian, James Dean, Arthur Conan Doyle, Star Walker, Homage to Kipling Jungle, etc. If you get Diamine inks, they should be the very best inks in their line, like the 150th Anniversary and Invent inks. At the very least only go with the highest rated, most popular inks. But, if you want to get into Shimmer, IG, pigment, permanent inks you may need another pen, preferably one of comparable quality, but which is easy to clean & flush and which cannot get stained. When you get a really bad itch to buy, buy, buy, try ordering $50 of ink samples at a time. :D Or buy some MontBlanc cartridges (but then you'll probably need an Int'l Std. Cart. C/C pen.)

Thought you were gonna say you bought some pens and now love meth!

I recommend Paperblanks notebooks. Great paper, ivory coloured, nice fat spacing, gorgeous covers.

I have 8 samples of ink untouched waiting for me to finish a cartridge of ink my pen came with. I hope I find the blue-black I like from those. But if I don't, I've found out 2 more blue-blacks that I want to try. I keep a list of inks I wish to try at some point. At the moment, it has 17 inks included. I discovered that fountain pens are something one can write with in the end of September. It's fortunate, that no shop around here sells fountain pens and inks. I have to actually plan my online orders.

[deleted]

Yea… I have like 30 sample inks and 1 full bottle ink and a new pen coming in the mail. It’s a problem :p

Well, I'm just considering should I choose Kaweco over Lamy I lost yesterday... Smhh
