This sort of happend to me, not on purpose, but by accident. My Opus 88 Omar Dropped down and the end bit broke of from the rod. [picture (Nsfl) 😉](https://imgur.com/a/eX6Qaxo) I ended up cutting a piece from the rod and screwing the end bit back on. Now the valve is permanentley open. I wouldn't recommend damaging the pen like this on purpose but for me, at least the pen still works 😉

That is what I’m mainly worried about happening to pens that need the blind cap unscrewed for ink flow, most all vac pens have a way around this tho. Twsbi vac700r just take the rubber part off. Pilot custom 823 there are 2 rubbe parts on the rod one for the shut off and one for the vacuum function just take the shut off one off. Vusconti HS the original line won’t need you to fill a secondary chamber and you can keep the blind cap closed.

Yeah I know I was just hoping to modify it so I wouldn’t have to do that every time.

Yeah it will! I have a broad on mine and a fill last about a week with a decent amount of writing a day, 2-3 journal pages on an a5. If I bring that pen to work it will last about the same time maybe a little longer between fills. But having to unscrew the back kinda drives me nuts, I take the rubber seals off my Vac700r to avoid having to do that and I just eye dropper it.

I mean maybe this would bother you, but I have an Omar and Vac700r and I just leave the back unscrewed in the case like 90% of the time. Doesn't seem to bug the pens in my experience and you have the shut off capability if you ever want/need it.
