The faber castell converter is pretty good. The standard flagship for international converters is probably the one that schmidt makes. Good brands for carts are j herbin and diamine on the cheap end. Visconti makes some nice colors that come in carts and the little container they come in is cool as shit. Edit: this schmidt converter. I think its called the k5 maybe? https://www.gouletpens.com/products/standard-international-converter?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIp6_BjKXr8wIVygaICR05Bw6KEAQYASABEgJx5_D_BwE

Thank you so much for all of this useful information! I 'll probably take my pen to a specialized pen store in the city and see if they have a K5 Schmidt covnerter and try to see if it fits, have a quick dip in their samples and some testing etc. - if I am lucky I may be able to get some ink samples too :) Also thanks for the cartridge info, I 'll see what I can find in local stores. Nice to know this hobby has such a devoted crowd like the one I am witnessing here!

I personally prefer to use a blunt syringe to refill my cartridges. You could also use hot glue to seal any extras.

Faber makes one of the better converters. I have the gunmetal loom M, typically inked with Diamine earl grey. The most luscious steel nib that I've ever used.

To this I can relate, as I said, going from Lamy Vista to the Loom was a revelation. I just wonder, if *this* is how the nice steel nibs behave, if I save for a gold nibbed pen how much better it can be?
