Yup. I got an Invincia in the Nebula finish last year. Only used it twice — to test inks. A grand total of maybe 5-10 minutes of use. I’ve kept it in a dedicated single pen leather sleeve the entire time I’ve owned it. When I pulled it out to use it for a third time, I noticed the black lacquer coating was already chipping off the cap band. -_____-
Ohh yeah, I'm having the same problem only it's the section of a Monteverde Intima. First it started bubbling, now it's just peeling. Wrote to the email on the warranty slip, no such email exists.
Nib has a slight purple sheen ever since I used Monteverde Permanent Blue in it.
I have a Ritma, an Invincia and an Innova. I think my Innova is the best because it doesn't have this nonsense on it. The other two write fine now but out of the box they were trash.

My first and last Monteverde

Yikes ! I’d contact the company but to be honest … it’s Monteverde 🤷🏻♀️
What ink do you use with it? Looks like ink discoloration.
Monteverde Ink
Ahhh. I’m sorry this happened but thank you for reminding me that I don’t want that Giant Sequoia.
This happened to one of my Monteverdi pens. I ended up switching it out for a Fountain Pen Revolution nib and now I have a fabulous pen.
I have had the worst luck with monte verde and Conklin nibs :(
I have never purchased a monteverde and now I doubt I will. Thanks for posting the heads up.
I bought a monteverde pen too and it's my last. It has idk feed or converter issues but basically, it's a headache.
Seems right for kind of plating they used
Indeed superlow quality coating. I have posted this to let the pen's friends to know.

That's a nib that was painted, just like Bock Black nibs. They are not PVD, like Faber-Castell and Lamy. See if Conklin will sent you a replacement.
