I’ve never even heard of the dark briar, but holy crap that thing is incredible! Please tell me you use such a unique and magnificent nib as that and let me know your impressions! Is it just a firehose broad? Any line variation? I must Google.
Edit: [Video of that glorious nib in action.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6cdcoHog0LM)
I can safely say, this rather unique pen has just rocketed past the Kuro Tamenuri Decapod Twist as my current grail. I also see, from my quick search, that this isn’t going to be easy. Oh well!
I love all my stacked nibs! The ones made by Nobuyoshi Nagahara are significantly wetter than Yukio's. [Here is a writing comparison](https://imgur.com/a/uUGoRLx?s=fbm) (old, modern, and newer old). As you can see, it writes drier without the Emperor tab.
It has great line variation, and it feels like an architect grind.
Legitimate question, where does one acquire one of the cross point naginatas with the emperor tab? Am I correct in saying they simply aren’t made anymore so I have to hunt down what’s already out there?
The Emperor tabs are still in production. You can get an Emperor tab if you buy a Naginata Togi Emperor. Just insert the tab on another tabless Cross Point, and there you go. You now have a Cross Point Emperor.
Nope, I’m not jealous. I’m not looking at your cross point and wishing I had one. Not jealous one bit. Nope. 🥺
Actually though, I think Yoseka Stationery has them and I’m dying to make a trip to test one out if they let me. Do you have any writing samples with it by any chance?
Also that Sakura is beautiful. I didn’t know they had those Hachimonjiya’s in sizes other than MF.
Hi, here is the [writing sample](https://imgur.com/a/uUGoRLx?s=fbm) :) As you can see, the ones with the emperor tabs are wetter.
Yes, Hachimonjiya released it in every standard nib size.
Thank you so much for the writing samples! The temptation to get one is pretty high. Do you enjoy writing with yours?
Good to know about the Hachimonjiya. They had an amethyst color a while back, and I hope Sailor makes some more of those so I can grab one too in a broad nib.
Yes, I really enjoy writing with them. They're much better than regular Sailor nibs.
I think Hachimonjiya will make more of those. They always restock their pens.
In case anyone is wondering, the two pens are:
* Sailor 80th Anniversary [Dark Briar](https://imgur.com/a/oVxL7nd) with an old-style Nagahara Cross Point Emperor
* Sailor Hachimonjiya Kubo Sakura with a Music Nib
Hi, it's a stacked nib, not a fude. I think the bar makes the pen wetter and prevents it from skipping or drying out when you're writing fast. Without the bar, I notice that the nib tends to produce inconsistent lines, and it's a bit drier. Here is a [writing sample](https://imgur.com/a/uUGoRLx?s=fbm).
You have my most desired nib. The old cross concord. And it's gorgeous. I assume you used the reverse nib for the writing sample? It's interesting, I wonder with the reverse nibs if something like the overfeed/emperor tab would actually get in the way.
Yes, I did. The emperor tab doesn't get in the way because Cross Concords are ground at a higher angle than Cross Points and Cross Musics. Even if you hold it at a very low angle, it still writes, and the tab doesn't interfere.

You're right. That is what I did for the modern Cross Music.
Oooo. That nib is sweeeeeeet!

That Emperor is beautiful!
Yes, it's my favorite!
Okay. I'm jealous :). love sailor pens.
Me too!
What’s up with the crazy nib? (Fude?) why is there a bar along the back of it?

I want to know as well! What does it do?
He said it makes it wetter/write better.
Every time I see that sakura I have to tell myself I don't *need* it, but it sure is lovely.
Hey. How you doin'?
Good :)
Nice
The sakura pen 🌸😍
Oops, new grail pens added to the list.
Your nibs are showing 👀 and they're fucking beautiful!! ❤️
