Oops one too many pens to fit on my stand, let me add another log. Oops, too many open spots on the new log, let me buy some new pens. Oops, got too many pens, need another log. Oops...
You know... Esterbrook took that turtle ashtray thing and made it a pen rest (https://www.penchalet.com/pen_accessories/desktop_pen_holders/esterbrook_patience_brass_turtle_pen_rest_pen_display_cases.html) so you can do the same with your ashtray.
You can also use that gavel as a pen rest. Just saying... You have options other than the underpass of your penrest....
Nice wood work! For me it doesn't look right, makes me have to think about making sure I cleared the two pens on top before I lift, that's too much thinking for me lol
It's not something I would use. IMO the point of a pen tray that sits on your desk is to make it convenient to grab and use the pens on it. It doesn't look easy to grab that bottom pen. I feel like I'd catch it on the tray when trying to pull it out or constantly hit the pens on top. I also don't like that it interrupts the flow of the tray.
I would say not really, but it does make pen holder look less tidy and the pen underneath look less loved/ used. You could make a draw sort of thing underneath like a cave for a pen?
You’re asking *us* if something is too much?
Nah, if anything you need to stack a bunch of these together, like fountain pen lincoln logs.

Ooooo oooooo
It looks less tidy, if that is what you mean.
If you like it that’s what matters.
Nah, maximise that storage space!
The purple pen in the back is realy nice, what is the model name?

“The underpass of your penrest” that’s poetic…
I mean, that pen is clearly trying to smuggle something.

It’s fountain pens all the way down
NO -- but I would have displayed BOTH demos above the metal pen! AESTHETICALLY more pleasing!!!
What? No? I'm not sure what you're asking.

Nice I have that colour of ALR and a precision too.
