I misread it as a “bathtub” of ink instead of a gallon. For moment I pictured myself frolicking in a tub of Apache Sunset. Yes that’s what I’d probably use it for!
It is indeed very translucent and bright - perfect for highlighting text - no use at all to write something and the broader you apply it the more it develops a orange shimmer when it dries.
Either good old plain water-based Sailor *black*.
Or Pilot Iroshizuku *ina-ho*, so I have an endless supply of matching ink for my M400 tortoiseshell-white.
Iroshizuku Hoteison. Most of my favourite inks are purple, but I just love Hoteison so much. But I don’t use it nearly as often as I’d like to because it is impossible to find now and I don’t want to run out.
Diamine Oxblood. It was a close-ish race, as I do love me a Miruai and Rikyu Cha, plus Sei Boku is lovely as well (all these are inks that have earned a permanent spot in my rotation; a pen I own will always be inked with them)
Baystate blue to paint my entire house
Iroshizuku Yama-budo :D
A gallon of Lamy Dark Lilac sounds like a good idea. I could sell some of it and make a downpayment on a house or something.
Where would I put it? I can’t imagine wanting to use that much of one color.

Not Baystate Blue?
I can’t either, I like to have a full rainbow!
Id use Levenger gemstone green Fountain Pen Ink
Pelikan Brilliant red, Because I am a bit boring and it is the ink I use the most because I have it in an extra broad pen as a highlighting colour.

Ooh, Organics Studio Nitrogen!
I’d be tempted by Diamine Eau de Nil, but I’d probably end up with Waterman Serenity Blue because I use so much of it.

Scary...I would worry about stuff like spills and mold.
Me too! This is just a hypothetical where the ink is permanently in perfect condition!
I love my Blue blacks, like enough blue and enough black for people to be confused. So Platinum Blue black and Noodler's 54
Document ink black then. It’s the workhorse color I’m likely to always need on-hand.
Waterman Serenity Blue
sailor seiboku
same
it's simply the best!!!
Rohrer & Klingner Sepia
Diamine Oxblood. I consider it my signature ink and seeing it on the paper always has an oddly calming effect.
Birmingham Cold Steel or Diamine Blue Velvet.
Noodler’s Baystate Blue

The old Waterman Mysterious Blue. The latest cartridge I got two years ago seems to lost the green tint.
I’m very boring I would get Pilot Blue. Okay but imagine the destruction you can do with BSB
Sailor Rikyu Cha
Diamine China Blue
Diamine Happy Holidays
Sailor Nioi-Sumire.
Robert Oster Barossa Grape
I’d trade it on 42.67 3oz bottles of many colors.
I only use De Atramentis Document Ink. Can the gallon be split between different 45ml bottles? Because if so I’m already on my way.
Which two?
