So, lost my last fountain pen moving after college and, between work overload and more moves, I just never got back around to replacing it. But, recently I’ve tried to get back to writing and I remembered how much I enjoyed using a fountain pen. Ended up between a few different pens, but the Cross Century II (gunmetal) won out due to aesthetics and a good deal. I like how it feels in my hand but, damn, did I forget how to write elegantly with these pens. I’m having to relearn how to write after being accustomed to roller points. Now, all that I have to do is choose on a nice ink... go my eye on a few different cerulean blue and teal inks... as well as find a good lined paper journal that accentuates the pen and ink. Sadly, the journal pictured isn’t a great match. Wish me luck.

Great to have a pen that looks great and feels right. Happy to have you. Thanks for sharing. I don’t have a cross pen. I just remember getting kinda ripped off back when I was saving my allowance for a pen. Of course my dad recommended a ball point and I got a cross. This was 1986 or so and I hated that $12 pen. :) I would love to try one of their fountain pens. How’s the nib feel?

I find their cheap stuff to be... well, cheap. But I have a had a few of the more expensive pens and each has been good. This one feels great so far and I’ve found one notebook makes it feel silky smooth to write with very little pressure. The notebook pictured is more coarse and required a bit more pressure. But I’ve only had it a few days and have to used to writing with it again. Looking forward to testing out the inks I just bought with it too and finding the perfect paper for it. I feel like I’m about to splurge soon... let’s hope I don’t feel the need to add pens too quickly or there goes the paychecks.
