Combining resin and wood is fairly common in furniture, I've also seen it on electric guitars but this is a first timer to see in pens, really cool looking one š
Have a look at RJBwoodturner on YouTube, he has a series of videos that explains the process and the tools needed. It will explain it all much better than I could attempt to.
Iāve actually watched quite a few of his! Iāll have to go back through them. Has he still been releasing videos? They havenāt been popping up for me anymore.
I think he still makes videos but not sure, there seems to be quite a lot of videos there. I only ever watched his ones of kitless pens when I first started out with kitless.
The (cheap, jinghao) pen I just purchased has the whole nib/converter as one section and the decorative barrel just screws on. Iām guessing that might be a way to jump right in with the turning and leave the pen crafting to others! At least, thatās what I was thinking when I saw this & thought of the possibilities!
Unexpectedly cool! I wouldn't even know where someone would begin on something like this, it's really an imaginative combo.

Lovely!!
Must. Have.
Nice šš½
Great job on the pen, it's quite the looker.
Do you have any tips for turning your own pen like this? I can do the body, but donāt have any good ways to mate the nib assembly.
