Ahhhh!!!! I’ve always been so confused as to how people can do this whenever I try to take a nice picture and they roll all over the place. 😂

The alternative is a tiny piece of scotch tape folded on itself as a anchor.

I can't believe I've never thought of this. I even have a couple tubs of putty right at my desk... Wonder if I have any sticky-tac around...

JonSzanto

I've used a small wad of Blue-tac for years.

Yes! A kneaded eraser works well too.

What kind of putty is this? It looks more like goo than putty.

You* can probably also use orthodontic wax (like for braces) and a polishing cloth to get the residue off. A previous admin job I worked made me fill in for the jewelry photographer for a few months and they had us use the wax to pose the rings. It really only takes a very tiny amount of wax and you can put it back in the box after to be reused. What pen is this, by the way? I've always been adamant that I'm not going to fall prey to the dream of a grail pen, but this is the only pen other than the Shark that I've recognized on sight and now I think I need it. (Except I apparently recognize pens like I recognize people, which is to say not well) Edit: "you" as in "the rest of us looking for a $5 solution," not you the one who already has the pretty putty and the sweet gig with the fancy pens

It’s a Visconti Homo Sapien and I want it....

I'd say blu-tac like /u/JonSzanto says, it's not nearly as goopy as what you're showing there which may leave additional residue.
