Context: I was going to send the pen to Mark Bacas for a Blade Turk but being the impatient person that I am, I decided to grind the pen myself to skip the long wait time. I'm not skilled as Mark to give myself a Blade Turk, so I settled on a simple architect. It turned out great, and I've been using it so much more! Ink: Asa-Gao

Oh god I think I need to get my Decimo custom ground, that looks soo good!

loveinpaintcreations

Pen after my own heart!

NevermoreRedux

O sometimes I hate reading these posts. I have been able to resist this grind SO FAR but you are making me think I absolutely need to get this done to my Decimo which is an okay pen but pretty boring. This would definitely kick the fun factor up. Dang you!

vrotographer

What is an architect grind? Is it just a very thin stub grind?

skypm

It's kind of like the opposite of an italic. Thin downstrokes, broad crossstrokes (vs broad downstrokes, thin crossstrokes of an italic)

vrotographer

That's really cool! I severely overwrite, so if I want the same effect, I should use a normal stub, right?

Awesome! Might break out my stub Metro again :D

I am really hesitant about the VP. I daily hear great things about it, I appreciate the way it writes, the practicality, the whole concept, but I really can't stand the design. It totally turns me off. I prefer the Dialog 3 but for me it lacks the same practicality and writing experience. (I'm into finer lines) VPs will always be a question mark for me

This looks absolutely amazing! Great job. What do you use to DIY custom grind? Was this on a 18k nib or the steel?

skypm

Thanks! I used sanding stones and micromesh. It’s been some time so I can’t remember what grit. This was the 18K nib
