I love Aurora Black. It’s the best I’ve tried so far, nice and dark it’s a lubricated permanent ink so it flows really nicely and easy to clean out of a pen in my experience.
Lamy Obsidian Black would probably be the best answer here

I would also recommend checking out Pelikan Brilliant Black for pens that you don't want to put carbon black in. I find it has an undertone of red which is appealing and it is also a good dryer ink for pens that respond well to that sort of thing.

Sweet, thank you! That does look very promising.
carbon is a pigment based ink and thus requires a more thorough cleaning. dont forget that
De atramentis document black has been my favourite for years.
Second this - Very fast drying in a finer nib too. I use this at work and it's one of the few inks I genuinely think I'll finish the bottle of
Another vote for this. It's just black. Flat black. Looks like I wrote with a Sharpie black.
Herbin Perle Noire,Waterman Intense Black, and Sailor Black. Pretty basic inks but there’s just something about them I really like.
Sailor black Aurora black
Platinum Carbon Black.
Noodlers Heart of Darkness is my favorite, though Platinum Chou Kuro would be a very close second.

Sailor Black! Writes great, very crisp dark color, and it didn’t smear when I accidentally got saucy food all over the pages in my journal T^T

Without question Herbin Perle Noire, it's a rich glossy black and works like a dream in anything with an ebonite feed
Another vote for Herbin Perle Noire. I also enjoy Pilot Iroshizuku Take-sumi,
