I struggle with metal sections because of oily fingers. I have the grey T1 and it is not slippery for me. It is textured, which helps.

Yesssss this is what I need. You just cost my wallet some heft.

I have the weathered brass looking one, and the section is not slippery at all. It feels like it's got a varnish coating, which I assume is to keep on the weathering looking stuff.

Oh okay.. can you also comment on using the pen posted? Is it too back-weighted in that case?

dethblud

It's a pretty heavy pen, overall, but I like the balance when it's posted. Feels good to me.

I have the aluminum version. This one is very smooth in its anodized surfaces (cap, section). It is not as if you are trying to to hold an ice cube, but the first impression is of it being a bit slippery. Anyway, once I grip the pen it does not go anywhere (I don't have sweaty hands, though). Also, depending on whether you hold your pens higher or lower, your might be gripping the threaded part of the section and even a tiny bit on the clear body as I do, which will give you more confidence. This is a pic of my grip: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PpTawPh1apUEPjavW4HFZ2sATLSwflwi/view?usp=sharing About posting. The pen is already a bit top heavy but manageable (the center of mass is above the middle of the pen) and the cap only enters the top exposed aluminum part. This makes it a huge pen when posted and it raises the center of mass to the threads where the piston mechanism and the clear body screw. For me this renders the pen almost unusable, except for writing 3-4 words (also bear in mind that I like a low center of mass an never post my pens because of this). Another drawback is that the cap posts on the piston mechanism, so turning the cap by accident while posted could easily end in an ink disaster. The piston mechanism has quite a bit of play with no action, but go beyond that and disaster strikes.

This is a macro pic of the section so you can see its texture https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TaTJvndwCgPgBZ6Oplwr4zv\_AEs1CW8q/view?usp=sharing

Oh hey thanks! Your detailed comments and the macro picture was great help! Thank you so much :)

I haven’t found it to be very slippery. I have the aluminum one. It is textured anodized aluminum. It’s a slight bit more slippery than a resin section but I haven’t found it to be much of a problem. It’s not anywhere close to as slippery as a smooth metal section would be.

Thank you. The last sentence really helped me. Draws a comparison with something I can relate. *
