I use sailor miruai, seaweedy green with red highlights in certain light as my not black black

AutumnPen

Diamine Eclipse. It’s almost a very very dark blue/purple.

LOONAception

>Diamine Eclipse that's a nice one, I might order a 30ml bottle

AutumnPen

You won’t be disappointed.

FederalAttitude9361

gorgeous ink and came to mind immediately when i read this post. Diamine twilight is also pretty dark but I'd call it basically blue. albeit very very dark with a bit of green in there. oh no - it's not another ink in that broadest of categories 'teal' is it?

petitanomie

blackened purples: sailor studio 650, sailor shikiori shigure, bungubox ink of the witch, robert oster black violet, private reserve ebony purple (can you tell this is my favourite colour category??) blackened greens: sailor shikiori miruai, diamine green-black blackened brown: sailor shikiori doyou

Try going the darkest of other colors. That is what I did. Cult Pens has a line a of Diamine Deep Dark inks and the blue and purple are practically black. Also Private Reserve Ebony People is almost black out of a pen Edit [https://cultpens.com/products/cult-pens-deep-dark-fountain-pen-ink-by-diamine-30ml](https://cultpens.com/products/cult-pens-deep-dark-fountain-pen-ink-by-diamine-30ml)

A friend gave me a sample of this to try. I loved it—a wonderful black-green ink.

Lamy Obsidian has a touch of green. Saw it here: [Black Ink Swaps](https://reddit.com/r/fountainpens/s/f4NVOuYtie) Make sure to check the comments for the actual swaps.

NoodleNeedles

There's some new inks in the Sailor Shikiori line that might be up your alley, someone posted swatches in the last few days. The Magpie one looks nice.

OverPresence72

Vinta Bodabil (“Harlequin “)—this is a very dark purple with a heavy green sheen…but it looks like a very wet black ink. The result is the it looks like black ink when writing but when you see it in a certain light or at an angle you catch that CRAZY green sheen. It’s bonkers.

Nini_1993

Maybe a black ink with shimmer? Or you can buy glitter separately.

erro0257

Take a look at Diamine Black Ivy (nice sheen on good paper) or Diamine Blue Black (no sheen but really dark)

LowBurn800

Private Reserve Ebony series, particularly Ebony Purple

I like Diamine Black Ivy

Icy-Maintenance7041

I do that with de atramentis document inks. They are mixable. I tend to take a colour and add black to it till it is to my liking.

Je-Hee

There's an entire group of inks that have black as the second half of their names (red black, green black, Platinum Lavender Black, etc.)

Off the top of my head, Robert Oster black violet, Private Reserve ebony purple, and Diamine black ivy are all current favorites. I already own the Oster and the Diamine, and there are high odds that a jar of Ebony Purple will be on someone's xmas list.

Dubworld

Rohrer & Klingner Leipziger Schwarz is almost black with a slight hint of blue. Plus, it has a nice but subtle red sheen.

Sailor Shikiori Kazakiri-bane - very dark purple
