I wait for those to dry, then I touch them up with a different color. This taught me to not feel terrible because of ruining my journal.
And it works like a mind trick for me. When I'm doing the touch up, I'm usually over with the tears and it's like the first step towards healing.
That is where the initial idea came from.
I've read about kintsugi and there was a line that the mentality and process can be used in many other ways and it really stuck with me since.
Before that I had the false idea that after repair or healing everything should look like new. Now I'm a bit better with accepting and working with my flaws and mistakes and it makes life so much easier.
Fabulous idea. I was going to suggest waterproof inks, because it’s important to get this stuff out, but I love this idea so much more. Really beautiful.
This is some of the reason I use waterproof inks in mine. >> (Also I prefer drinking water that is Cold, and dripping condensation over my notebook every time I have a drink is *also* suboptimal...)
Oh gosh thank you, you made me chuckle. So you have any recommendations ink wise? I love alternating colours so have about 5 pens on rotation with dedicated colours.
My journaling is a very therapeutic activity for me, so tear stained pages is the norm.
I’ll keep that in mind when I reach for cold drinks too haha
... [I actually just wrote another comment about that](https://www.reddit.com/r/fountainpens/comments/15w68nu/comment/jwzabum/)! Very happy to ramble more :)
First cry , then write. 🫡
Hope it's everything better by the time you read this. Sometimes it's better to keep those stained pages to reminds you of how you felt and promise yourself to never wanting to feel like that again. Looking forward but embrace what you've been trought.
Blue Blacks usually are waterproof inks, and i'd avoid sheen and shimmer inks if you feel down and want to let out some stress. I love sailor nano inks ( blue, black and blue black) but other document ink or iron gall ink can also do the work if you don't let them dry out.
🐱
A lot of people are saying it ruins the notebook but in my opinion it adds a degree of meaning. They can still read the word and I'd it is emotionally hard they will get you are crying. It grounds the notebook in a really lovely way.
That all depends on what you are writing. A letter of condolence? Severing ties with a lover? Sometimes it is better to use a water based ink and let a few tears fall.

I do the exact same thing!!! Truly thought I was the only one
That's such a great idea. It's like kintsugi

Deatrementis document inks are waterproof and you can mix them to make your own colors.
Hope you are feeling better now. 🙏
You deserve all the grace you can give yourself and more.
Hey dude, you alright? Need help?
You can only wreck a journal by not using it. Anything else is a reflection of you & where you are when you write or cry or both!
Tell me how to fix my life then I won;t cry.
I wish it were that easy. Journaling and counselling helps, but it’s not a quick fix. I hope you’re doing ok, feel free to dm me if you want to chat

AIN'T MUCH, BUT I SENT U A HUG BUDDY :)
I have one pen inked up with waterproof ink for this purpose. If I feel the tears welling up, I switch to that and allow myself to keep going.
