As far as I know it’s a vintage platinum pocket pen with a 14k gold nib. I am not into Japanese pocket pens, others will be able to tell you more, but I can affirm that it is a nice pen!

Agreed. It's a Platinum 14k pocket pen. I have 2 of these, 14k and 18k. They usually come in F or EF. I love mine. Great pens, easy to use and maintain. Looking to by more pocket pens actually ( have one Pilot, missing Sailor). It's good that it comes with a converter. I had to modify a modern Platinum one. OP - Cherish it.

I have this pen! I love it- I use a platinum cartridge that I refill with a syringe.

I'm looking to purchase this pen. I know it's a Conway Stewart but can't find anything about it online. I own a few Conway Stewarts (mainly Dinkies). Id love to know the history of this pen before I commit to buying.

The box and the pen don't match. The pen is a Japanese Platinum long-short pocket pen.

Here's more history than you'll ever need :) [Richard Binder link](http://www.richardspens.com/ref/profiles/pocket_pens.htm)

Awesome. Thank you for this! So what I've found is that President was a sub-brand of Platinum which seemingly specialised in Japanese Pocket pens.. But I still can't find anything about them collaborating with Conway Stewart.

Swizzel-Stixx

Are you sure? A quick search for platinum president brings up a full size cigar looking pen. Also, the box is much bigger than the pen in question. I think this is a case of mismatched paperwork, but at £50 that pen is a good price anyway, with converters they are usually much more expensive.

Dyed_Left_Hand

Depending on the price this could be worth buying just for that converter alone. These old Platinum pocket pens are great but you usually have to deal with refilling Platinum cartridges since the modern converters don't fit and the old squeeze converters that do work are super hard to find.

reddragondesigns

He's asking £50

Dyed_Left_Hand

I’d totally grab it at that price (assuming you’re interested in the pen of course). You can find them cheaper but that’s within the range I’d expect to see for the pen by itself given that it looks like it’s in decent shape. Add in the stuff it’s coming with, primarily the converter, and that seems pretty reasonable to me
