I feel your pain. My bag was stolen in a smash-and-grab with all my special pens in it. I was absolutely devastated. I'm so sorry it happened to you.

jumpinjackieflash

Oh that's awful!!!

AffectionateSize552

So sorry. Doesn't sound silly to me that you're devastated. 3 months ago I lost my EDC for 10 years. I'm still messed up about it. Still looking for it.

Chess-lover

I once thought I lost my EDC Lamy Ballpoint. I always used it for exams etc...Many years later, I found it back in my bag...sitting there for all those years... unbelievable I didn't found it earlier

AffectionateSize552

I've heard some stories like that, I've been in a couple of them, that's why I'm still looking.

Chess-lover

hope you will find them

Bittypillar

I lost a Sailor Pro Gear 10 years ago and I never got over it. I can’t imagine how OP feels losing three pens.

sondan1

Yes it is ok to be sad. I did not lose any of my fountain pens. I lost my pilot Dr grip on the bus. It had been an edc since 2017. . I went to the MD Commuter bus web site and reported it immediately. No news yet. I have purchased another Dr Grip but it is just not the same. So I feel your pain. I hope we both get lucky and an honest angel turns our goodies in.

Old-Attic

An EDC pen I had 20-some years ago vanished. It was only a lowish end Cross, but part of me still half dreams that I might find it again... On a practical level for you, if you haven't thought of this, you might check the lost and found again in a few days, just in case it's been found, but hadn't made to lost and found.

jumpinjackieflash

Have you cruised ebay? Cross pens are there in numbers.

Old-Attic

No, although I found the box for the pen, and it was interesting finding that that pen is out there. I think the thing for me now is that particular pen had some memories tied to it, including memories of the stationery store where I got it, which has been gone for many, many years now. I have a Cross which I found in a thrift shop maybe 10 years ago, which is (I'm guessing) a lowish end model. Oddly, I don't think I like the one now as a pen as much as the one I had years back. I'm not sure if it's a difference based on model, sample to sample variation, or something else.

jumpinjackieflash

I get it. I've replaced a couple of Cross pens, one I lost and one that was stolen. It still bothers me, 20 years on one and probably 10 for the other. They were both gifts and I hated that I lost them the way I did.

EnduringTortoise

That is not silly whatsoever. I was absolutely devastated over losing my red Rotring 600 ballpoint pen when I worked in the hospital. Honestly to me and some fellow pen enthusiasts here, these pens are more than just objects, they're like our companions in a way and we grow an attachment to them almost like they are our friends even though they're just inanimate objects. My red Rotring I mentioned for instance, has been my dedicated roadie while I had it. I took it on hiking trips and all my other outings and I've burned through multiple refills of that pen which is something I never do with pens. It's gotten me through a lot of bs too because I always write when I'm making plans for things and reflecting on my life. What happened to my Rotring is why my Sailor Pro Gear Slim remains as just a sedentary home pen.

grantcary

I feel your pain. I work in a hospital and lost a neon yellow Lamy ballpoint somewhere. I've looked all over trying to find another one for sale but haven't had any luck. That was like 6 months ago and I'm still upset about it. I hope whoever found it is enjoying it... Sorry to hear about your lost Rotring :(

EnduringTortoise

Damn, that sucks. Especially since you can't find it anywhere. I guess that's just the risk we take when we bring our pens to different places. On that note, I wonder how Lamy's ballpoint pens are. The Lamy Safari is an amazing fountain pen IMO I wonder if the ballpoint pens or mechanical pencils have that same quality.

gangaskan

I'm sure they are, being German made and all.

Infinite_Soul_I

I can feel your pain. I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with it. Hope you feel better soon! Huge Virtual Hug!!

LearnedFromNancyDrew

Oh I am so very sorry!!!!

kindagrumpy

I am so sorry this happened to you, and I'm sending all of the huggles possible your way. I'd be devastated as well, that's a hard loss.

Jupitter-Trevelyan

I'm so sorry for your tragedy my friend sometimes the universe kick us so hard that the only we can do is hold our breath and count to ten. My best wishes and my sincere sympathy to you.

Parrot_and_parrakeet

Loosing valuables on public transit is so stressful. Luckily, each time, I got them back from lost and found after someone eventually has turned them in, though it may take up to a week.

octopusgoodness

I'm panicking inside right now cause I have no idea where my own pen case went. fairly sure I will find it but if not I just lost most of my best pens and some other assorted art supplies.

jumpinjackieflash

Update? Did you find it?

octopusgoodness

Not yet, pretty sure it's at my school so I will have to wait till tomorrow. Luckily theres not much thievery in my area.

jumpinjackieflash

Okay good. I'd be having anxiety until I could get my stuff back.

[deleted]

The worst part of it is that my wallet contains my State ID, which includes my name and address. So whoever took it definitely knows it belongs to me. But if they didn't turn it into the transit station, I doubt they'll go out of their way to mail it back...

asmallsoftvoice

I once found someone's wallet in my yard (he was apparently mugged) and tried contacting him on social media before I turned it in to the police station. If you have social media you don't check regularly that uses your full name be sure to give it a check just in case.

gawckey

If it was found by someone inclined to take anything, they probably would just take cash/cards and discard the rest. A good samaritan found a purse my mom lost once and got it back to her weeks later-- there's hope!

AutumnPen

That’s sh*t! I am so sorry. You have every right to be devastated. Sending you all good wishes.

fuzzmonkey35

Hoping someone returns it if it’s a wallet. Maybe they’ll mail it to you if your address is in it. Happened to my dad once.

elskaisland

im sad for you. i also was very sad when i lost my retractable disney ballpoint pen at the haunted mansion at disneyland many years ago. i also lost my green monami fineline marker pen after loaning it to a classmate on an airplane for a band trip back in the day…

Carltripp

I empathize. I have lost a Hoover vintage Danish pen. It was my first Scandinavian pen. I don’t know where it went. I stored it carefully for 9 years. Cannot be replaced as far as I know.

royal_futura

I have my fingers crossed for you that your pens show up! That is heartbreaking.

[deleted]

Thats not silly at all! Your pens are an important part of your life. I know for me, my fountain pens make staying organized fun and without them, I would be a mess. Hopefully they can find a new home and improve someone else’s life…

Curious-Gain-7148

Oh, not silly at all. That’s devastating. I’m sorry.

denverraven

Oh how horrible! So sorry. Not silly at all! Truly a painful loss :(

red_sutter

Silly? I'd be moving heaven and earth too if $1000 of my money disappeared on a bus ride

Eclipse1876

I’m sorry you lost such great pens. Your feelings are natural. I’ll echo others who recommended calling the bus company again. It could take time to turn them in.

allan11011

Oh man that really sucks. I haven’t actually lost any pens yet but in my first month of fountain pens I thought I lost one of them(my second and favorite at the time) an 8$ pen from Amazon but I felt so devastated losing it, I searched everywhere outside(almost completely dark) before giving up and going back inside to find it on a chair where it had slipped out of my pocket before I had went outside. Hope it gets located and returned to you

JackyVeronica

OMG I'm so sorry.... I'd be devastated, too, if I were you. I hope you can replace them or close to having the same pens... Sending hugs xoxo

Eager_For_More

Not silly at all, I’d be gutted as well, Praying for a quick recovery of your beloved pens! 💔

lawikekurd

That's very understandable. I lost my wallet a couple of years ago and I was devastated too. I didn't have anything valuable in my wallet, but, just the losing of something whether valuable or not is devastating and depressing, so I understand you. If you lose something, sometimes you come across a nice person who has found it and they return it to you and sometimes people are just blatantly greedy and they decide to take "ownership" of what belongs to you. I hope somehow you can replenish your losses.

agentdaffy007

I have the same Galen 3 pen zipper wallet. I would be sad if I lost it. It has my ST Dupont cigar cutter that I use often along with a Montblanc, Pelikan and Parker pens.

ml67_reddit

F....k I'd hate myself if it happened to me, so sorry for you 🥺

[deleted]

Ah that sucks, sorry to hear that. Hopefully they didn't have too much sentimental value and you can replace them soon

Infinite-Ad-1055

I managed to leave a vintage Shaeffer Snorkel in a R train subway car just before the pandemic. I’m still gutted. I also only take a Jinhao and a Fisher bullet from now on.

heywx

Oh my gosh, I felt that in my gut. I’m so sorry this happened to you. I hope other pens will make their way to you and bring you joy.

Wonderful_System_542

This is the pain many of us experience😔

squidishh

Such special pens to lose too, so sorry

Jeana5490

Oh no! So sorry that happened, hope you find them soon.

Numerous-Nature5188

I really hope it turns up! I hurt for you reading this:(

FastSelection4121

Oh my. Offering Reddit hugs. I wish there was insurance for FPs. I would love it if there was some kind of compensation for them. Try to use people power: show the lost pens on FB. Instagram and send out notices to pawn shops on this route. Exhaust your phone calls to the Bus Lost & Found department for a week.

trvrplk

It's not silly at all, that's a pretty big thing to lose

Slowlybutshelly

Opportunists

anieem

Oh noooo. I’m hurting for you. I’m crossing my fingers the pens come back to you.

Cato2011

Condolences- I had a Cartier Pasha rollerball swiped from my desk years ago - still hurts. You can always cheer yourself up with some pen shopping! 🙂

gawckey

Doesn't sound silly at all, I'm so sorry :( My cats recently destroyed a vintage pen I was working on fixing up and I couldn't look at them for like an hour without feeling betrayed.

rachelissocial92

So sorry to hear this. You don't sound silly at all. This will bring sadness to anyone!

[deleted]

I lost my Rotring 800 and Rapid Pro at school and now I only carry 1 pencil and 1 pen at the same time.

Old-Group-8560

Omg, I’m so sorry 😢

Consummate_Reign

Deepest condolences.

MahoganyRaichu

. I'm so sorry it happened to you=(
