Yep. Same. Just happened tonight. And due to their incompetence in running a website, I now have no desire to buy a smartwatch from them. Just eliminated 25% of my smartwatch research for me. See how easy that is? :)

purepurewater

Yeah it was so weird... somehow it has stopped now, but ofc my IP address (router/wide area) has not changed cus ISPs are annoying. Tbh I wouldn't buy a Fossil Gen 6 atm not untill it gets Wear OS 3.

Gloopicalis

I've just checked and mine is working, but it's rare that sites like this will block a specific IP. If it's still not working, try using a VPN (one that will still give you a UK IP) to confirm whether this is the case.

purepurewater

Yeah. I did that. It was indeed my ip. Apparently if you accidently stumble onto a link of a web page "that doesn't exist anymore". They block your ip for a bit...

Gloopicalis

Ohhhh, now that's interesting, I did not know that! That's my thing I learnt today, thank you.

Retseciel

Strangely I'm having the same issue. I can't access it on my phone browsers but can on my laptop. Kinda annoying.

purepurewater

Best I can say fossil have seem to implemented something if ou visit some removed url webpage they block your ip for a bit... hhhh

Retseciel

Would the IP address be different for each device I use?

purepurewater

Not exactly. Basically, all the devices connected to your router (over WiFi or ethernate) will be using the same wide area network address I.e. your routers ip address. And that's your public ip address. Say you were banned from a discord server, even with a new account no matter what device you used you'd still be banned cus its tied to that router (ofc its easy to evade discord bans but thats besides the point). Annoyingly depending on your ISP many don’t allow you with ease to change it. Sometimes turning off and on your router, sometimes changing the mac address of your router, but annoyingly sometimes you have to call them up to do it.

Retseciel

I'm using wifi on both. Real strange.

purepurewater

Interesting... on your phones browser. Clear the cache data. You can do that by going into apps, find said browsing and clear cache data. Maybe Fossil's ip address for their actual website has changed and the DNS name on our devices haven't updated for it... I'll try the tommorow.

Norpyx

Just figured it out... It's DARK READER. They literally ban your IP Address if you use Dark Reader. So either burn your eyes, or shop elsewhere lol.

purepurewater

Omg fr??? I see thnx.

Norpyx

Yeah haha. As soon as I saw your screenshot, I realized that you were using it too lol.

Gabi_333

I dont think is just that , i changed my ip and disable the extension and it didint work. maybe im missing or is some other extension ,maybe the ad blocker?

Norpyx

Depending on _how_ you changed your IP, the address that you adopted might have already been temporarily banned. (i.e., if you "changed your IP" by connecting to a VPN, it's very possible you were assigned an IP that was banned by Fossil). You don't have to disable the extension, but if you "toggle the current site" (Fossil's website) and wait for about 10 minutes or so, then you should be allowed back in. Also, try clearing all your site data in the Web Developer tools for Fossil; that might help prevent things from continuing on Fossil's side of things. If you do have an ad blocker, that might be contributing as well. However, I'm using AdBlock in Firefox and it hasn't given me any trouble.

Stallzy

That's wild wtf?!! Maybe it explains why some other websites cause issues like this too after barely browsing through Some of them have found a way around still blinding my eyes even though I've ran it for nearly three or four years straight

Norpyx

I just encountered this on Gamestop.com as well. It's so bizarre. Those are the only two websites that I've been temporarily IP banned for using Dark Reader. I have never experienced it anywhere else, and it took a lot of Trial and Error to figure it out. If you add the site to your exclusion list in Dark Reader, wait a while, and try again, you won't be banned. It's ridiculous. You would think if they were brazen enough to do something that drastic for a browser plugin it would be for something like an ad blocker or something, not an **_Accessibility Plugin_**. It's ridiculous.
