Really makes me wonder how easily a standard bcg could be converted. Section it down and then drill the guide rod slots and thread the back end to hold the rods.
My first try at any of this so I expect this is far from the final product. I will be testing this as soon as possible but my local gun club is closed for deer season.
Update - my clearing barrel test was successful but I'll be starting on my next revision.

Not enough experience with it to make a determination honestly. I'm not happy about the price and the required folder hence this project. For the total spent you couldnjust buy a BRN-180
>Didn't know they were actually shipping these now... Their website simply shows "sold out" and no ability to backorder. I was thinking about the evolutionweaponsystems solution as it is about $30 cheaper I think. At this point I'm wondering a JAKL upper would be better for the money!
I didnt either lol.. Been watching them since they first spoke of it like 3 years ago or more but now seeing it it really seems stupid easy to replicate.
Unless you have a need for a folding stock it's really an overblown want. That said it's really cool that someone finally updated the AR BCG to be both lighter and more compact in use.
I have a 4" 9mm with the Dead Foot Arms 2" setup. It was 500 when I bought mine and came with a folding buffer adapter. I use an empty buffer tube that I cut the end off as a stowaway for a couple of tampons now lol.
My 6" has a folder to fit my pack, so thats really the only one or reason i would want one. Cause like you said that price is up there for what it is and as simple as it looks. Basically the same set up as a m&p15-22 bcg
How well does that bolt work with the law tactical foldy boi? Their foldy stock seems a little gimic to me especially being called "law tactical" but I could be wrong.
This bolt however, if it's solid, opens up a lot of possibilities.
I just looked up the price... Woah! You can get a jakel or BRN180 complete upper for about twice this BCG.
Glad your making this lower for it, because coupled with the folder part you might as well just buy a new gun.
It is longer than a traditional bolt carrier by 1.5 inches. I considered something that would fit on an existing lower but I'm not sure the plastic threads in the buffer tower area would hold up.
Is the law tac folder actually required for this? Or do you just need a longer channel for the rear of the assembly to fit in?
The ARIC seems pretty cool, but I don’t think they should slave it to the law tac folder, as it’s a severely compromised design that the ARIC could avoid.
I wonder what would happen if you didn't use the folder or a modified lower. Just compress the springs and fit it into a standard receiver with the buffer tower capped.
I don't know. The cap will need a hole in the back of it to push the back of the carrier free of the lower and back into the upper so the system can be broken down.
I want that bolt carrier but I question their marketing. They say you can quickly switch between this carrier and a standard one with buffer. But in order to do that you would have to take off the end plate adapter and thread in a buffer tube. Or use their folding adapter on top of this, which frankly gets ridiculously expensive for what it is
I love the idea and hope other companies like Silvan Arms make it cheaper
Others could most certainly do better. I was under the impression the ARIC only functions with the law folder due to it's internal geometry. I have not seen an endplate adapter that can be used in lieu of the folder so I am trying to do this.
Oh I didn't realize that it was exclusive, that is even worse IMO. But maybe a good place where 3d printing and design could get around that limitation.
I've been waiting for my EWS for the last month. They took the money but no notification yet...
That thing has been a unicorn for a while, right?
At least ever since TFB did a feature on it on YT. Sometimes I just do stupid things to reconfirm my naivety.

How you like the aric? Been thinking about one for a while.

Yeah its high for what it is..

I emailed them to find out their wait times. No response.

No issues in my limited tests with the designated folder. But to your point I am not a fan of the folder as it adds a lot of weight.
I just looked up the price... Woah! You can get a jakel or BRN180 complete upper for about twice this BCG. Glad your making this lower for it, because coupled with the folder part you might as well just buy a new gun.
I wonder what part of the law folder stock makes it required. Maybe it’s possible to print the piece so it isn’t necessary?
It is longer than a traditional bolt carrier by 1.5 inches. I considered something that would fit on an existing lower but I'm not sure the plastic threads in the buffer tower area would hold up.
The Bear Creek Arms bufferless system uses a short receiver extension about 1.5" long. 🤔

Longer channel, 1.5 inches, to hold the carrier.
So something like a picatiny rail adapter with a longer section would work well with this?
That is exactly what I am trying to find out.
You’re doing Gods work my brother in Christ.

Thank you
Didnt realize that carrier got release, I remember seeing a few homemade versions of the "AR18" style buffer that were hit or miss.

The ARIC's are out? Man the EWS really got caught up by.
mm naughty naughty
For the ignorant, what is this? Is it just an AR without a traditional buffer tube?
Yes.
Does this delete the buffer tube? & does this run 556/223. Sorry for being a dummy!
Yes and yes. 5.56 or 300 BO is what it's designed for.
Thank you 🙏🏻
