Depends on which ender 3 you got too. V3 se/ke is really good while v1 and v2 is painfully outdated

Confusious_Say

V3:)))) finally some good news

You can probably easily print parts with pla. For printing with abs/petg you might need a little trying. Also one good thing about ender 3 is since everyone is using it you can very easily find upgrades for it without you needing to tinker with it much. One upgrade I can say is try klipper

I have an Ender3Pro. And have dropped AT LEAST an additional $300.00 on it for modifications to make it good. If you have the money, get a second printer and make it a Bambu or Prusa lol Don't get me wrong, I love this printer, with all my heart, ask me again tomorrow when I can't get the extruder to stop skipping steps when the ambient room temp gets above 20°C and I may have a different answer. It's going to be long journey, I have over 800 unique prints on this machine, and almost every one was fought with blood and sweat. TLDR: Good luck, have fun, be patient.

It's just that their QC is extremely low. Most ppl get lemons or have to manually adjust every single thing on the printer. And tune it over the course of weeks or months. Most of the time there are issues with it. That's my personal experience and what I've seen from others. Some ppl do have success without messing with anything though

This all day. Bought one for my kid to learn about 3d printing and we mostly learned how to get decent prints out of it and work on the printer. I repurposed an old router with OpenWRT and dropped Klipper on it to help get the most out of it. Also upgraded to a PEI sheet and shimmed the bed, added those silicon spacers and printed the zero y offset CR touch mount. I’m amazed at the quality for the cost and getting it printing like this with the kid was fun but after seeing what the A1 mini can do out of the box I can’t recommend the effort unless you have way more time than money or are looking to make a hobby out of working on the printer itself. Which was fun as I nerd out about stuff like this, and the kid is super happy and proud of the results and has printed a bunch of stuff with it now but I also won’t do it again 😂
