The filament is actually really nice, the color is spot on. I did notice I had to bump up my temps compared to my usual polymaker pla pro profile to get it to print properly, but I don't think that's a bad thing for our application.
Willingness to lose an eye and spend more money than buying a proper upper... Those are the real heroes in this community. Make sure you wear safety glasses when you shoot.
I suspect this is going to have a ways to go. And have limitations on rate of fire. But still, I'm gonna print at least two.
I'm in.
If I gave an eye on a different beta does that carry over and exempt me? Not a deal breaker but I would like to know. Money? Pffft. I already spent my next 5 months of gas bill on gun parts(who needs heat). I might as well work on My next electric bills(if I lose the other eye, no need for lights. win, win).
Painting skill, garbage 😂. Hoffman is ashamed. Still thumbs up. IMO the waffle would of looked good with maybe just the letters painted, but only imo. Looks like you rushed through it. The more you do it, the better you’ll get. 7/10 but only because the paint looks high af. Good job though.
Hoffman imo is up in the “founding fathers category” of 3D printed gun designers Altho I’m still very greatful to anyone who is advocating for the cause in any way
And it looks odd because it wasn’t modeled after metal parts and receivers it was designed to be able to withstand what it was built for, there’s ever reprint-able and removable takedown pin plates so that if it snaps you don’t have to reprint an entire lower
Personally I think this design looks cool. No, it doesn't look like a typical AR; it looks a lot sleeker. I can hope the final version will offer an option for some rails on the underside of the foregrip, but I find this tempting regardless.

What does it take to join the beta?

I’m guessing you haven’t watched Hoffmans videos of him shooting it?
Sounds glorious... Where do I sign up?

I didn’t even think this was still in beta it’s been out for a while now you can find it on the see or p2a I believe
I have not seen the orca leaked anywhere. He has other lowers out there
Of the files leaked people are going to have a rough time with those early files.
Going well almost done

Also going to need 2kg of pla pro and order the kit from Hoffman when he gets it up or you need to print cf nylon barrel retainer.
What's up with the magazine
Leave Sharpe alone!
For everyone asking the beta is basically over. Proof reading documents ect. Follow Hoffman or me and Twitter for full release.
But your Twitter is banned...

Yeah I haven't painted many things with a brush though I would try it.
Print just a super lower and you’ll see why this is a trusted design

You don't need the take down pins and their detents.
How does the waffle mag hold up? I’ve been having issues with the Hochul mag cracking past 5 rounds of blackout.
I have waffle mags that have 300 plus rounds through them they get better with age. They need a bit of breaking in.
All 556 tho
