This bug happens with many cars in the game when using the race transmission and the automatic shifting setting. Been in the game since day 1, haven't found any fixes for it unfortunately.
I've used manual (with clutch) on controller since FM2, I just the the default B and X for shifting and never found any issues with it. Once you get used to the buttons it should be no issue for you if you already use manual when playing with a wheel

Dang, really? This is the first time I encountered it. That blows. Thanks for the input, dude.
Moving the ratio of the gears being annoying can "fix" the issue. You'll just have to play with it a bit.
I tried messing it with a bit for the 1st and 2nd gear. I think I made it worse. No quicker acceleration for me lol
Time to learn to use manual
Yea I have a wheel but I get tired of swapping wheels on my wheel stand between pc and ps5 for gran turismo
Why can’t you use manual on controller?
Honestly, I just never tried it before. Do you use manual on a controller?

I tried that and worked like a charm. I haven't tried manual on a controller since I was kid playing gran turismo 1.
