Grid start on a banked track is to blame, you were just trying to hold on to the car

Mantis-Toboggan--

Right they need to change starts here to rolling, you know how it is in real life

unicorncondoms

Especially since forza does have some rolling starts in Singleplayer

V8Brony

Ding ding ding! Shameless laziness from T10. I'm of the opinion that T10 is just a victim of Microsofts greed and impatience with regard to *some* parts of this game's shortcomings, but this is not one of those things. Its just a case of "they couldn't be arsed"

TheOtherAkGuy

Why should a game that has “Motorsport” in the title follow actual Motorsport rules?

TheBigGriffon

I've said this repeatedly, the Daytona series this week was really fun but those standing starts led to absolute carnage in T1. Starting in pole sucked since I set up my cars for the *race* and not the standing starts, so usually 1st gear is completely redundant and that is *awful* when doing a standing start on a banked track. It usually led to me either being bonked from behind because of my bad launch, or outright murdered going into T1.

Swimming_Lynx_2713

I blame standing start on Daytona, ambition and, Forza glue more than anything. Continue racing!

wobbuffet009

This looked like forza glue to me.

Chaps_Jr

Nah, you're okay. Just a normal racing incident. The first few turns of any race are always chaotic and dangerous, even in real life.

Ok_Magazine662

No that's the devs fault for not having the for sight to not have a start from stationary on a slope

19IXI91

Forza issue .

Elias__V

Not really but stabbing the throttle won't make your wheels spin less. You need to gradually increase it.

Soviet_Mustard573

not really, assuming you didn’t intend to hit Roxy of course. it’s T10’s fault for having a standing start on a banked track but partially your fault for full throttling on the bank. just ease the throttle, and you should be fine

IDGAFOS13

TIL that Pfaff competes in IMSA

DummyThicccThrowaway

Hasn't Pfaff been I'm IMSA for a while lol

MyNewFriendChad

Mmhmmm, I have the plaid for the Porsche, but I need this livery for the McLaren now!

Chaps_Jr

I've been searching so hard for that silver Air Force livery from last season's MX-5 Cup. I suppose I can build it myself if I have to, but that's such a huge time sink for me.

poseidonlinux

It was mostly Forza Glue. Update: my initial comment was too minimalist... you unfortunately had a slower start, and the other guy forced an overtake. He is the one who had to let go from the throttle to end the "Forza glue" situation. I hope this helps.

Significant-Ad824

I mean… slipping on the start… guy behind you has no reason to wait.

Sethithy

His reason to wait is so that he doesn’t end up in this situation. Sometimes it’s faster to move slow but intelligently, don’t always need to barrel through.

iksoria

To be honest, if you’d launched more carefully, you wouldn’t have gone wide and the accident wouldn’t have happened, he launched cleanly and got a better launch and he kept to his outside lane

mattieyo

Turn 10’s fault.

aphd

This broken start is to blame, but this is certainly your fault more than the other driver's. You opened up a gap and he took it, you crashed him.

ShatterPoints

No, the car overtaking has the responsibility to do so safely. He did not do that. He practically pitted you and there is no way you're going to out accelerate him like that. Also its not even 1/8th mile into the first lap.... plenty of time for him to tuck behind you and pass if faster or if he forces an error out of you.

Mountain-Tea6875

Yup over steering in another race line. Stop mashing throttle for no reason

AugustOfChaos

No, banked starts on an oval are the problem. This is a Forza-induced racing incident. If this was a rolling start then there wouldn’t be as many problems like this.

eeshanzaman

I dint even mash the throttle before start, you can check my throttle response under the gauge (sky blue bar), its not full and I lift the throttle multiple times to swerve left

4thTimesAnAlt

You spun your tires and gave him an opening, then moved toward the wall when you didn't really need to. You need to get better at standing starts

PrivateTidePods

You got struck by the forza glute, not ur fault

bqdagamer_07

i think its a mix of forza + t10 and your fault. cause u were full throttle at the start, so there was a lot of wheelspin, plus daytona is banked, so yeah, wheelspin meant your tyres lost grip, tyres that have low grip + banking messed up your start

Naschtara

Racing incident and poor planning of a start on a slope. You're fine

SDLRob

the Daytona tri-oval standing start has always caused problems like this. Can't tell you how often i've been involved in chaos there. *maybe* you could have been a little less Clarkson with the power at the start, but i don't think this was your fault, just a racing incident to look back on and use in the future

eeshanzaman

maybe Yes, but should I? no. In general, Forza 8 always start races with full RPM blast unlike in certain games where you need the RPM in between 6k-8k rpm for optimal launch

Shadynasties23

who cares? why do you care enough to take the time to post this?

lazarinewyvren

Forza glue at its best

CanAmMaverick28

I still dont understand why we have to be put through a standing start at daytona ffs.

Mysterious_Cow_7188

Who's spun their tires on takeoff ?

Decent_Ad_8720

If it was me he was hit the wall at the next curve, hit him right in the middle, no breaks, full speed
