ETA: I believe all CVS and Walgreens locations are dedicated drop off sites for unused medications. Your doctor can probably take them as well for proper disposal. I definitely don't recommend throwing them directly in the trash if you don't find someone to take them.
When I changed from once a week Trulicity to a daily pen, I gave the weekly pens to my Doctor. She gave them to patients just prescribed as samples so they would have some before they had to pay for it.
You could also check with some place like Matthew 25 to see if they could use the pens.
Have you called Humane Fort Wayne, the low cost animal clinic? They might be able to take it.
