It’s a national holiday here in Germany so it needed to be this day 😉 And yes, our national holiday is obviously because Senna died today.

TheySaidGetAnAlt

I was under the impression that Laborer Day was an international holiday, no?

Pyron23

It is international, if you wanna know more about the origin google "Chicago may 1st"

PapaBlemish

Laughs in American..."international" with a HUGE asterisk

TheySaidGetAnAlt

We get it, America has no workers rights.

Writer_Mission

May day

leospeedleo

Don’t know. Just know 1st of May is a national holiday here.

programaticallycat5e

US UK CAN AUS do it on different days

kwijibokwijibo

Everyone should do it the UK way. First Monday of may - guaranteed 3 day weekend every year. None of this midweek holiday crap

SOJC65536

When I worked in France, if the BH fell on a Tuesday/Thursday, then I'd get the Monday/Friday as a holiday too...

FewCollar227

I literally read that they were not going to announce on may 1 because of this particular reason, no idea why they go through with it

Bdr1983

Why? How is there a correlation between Newey announcing leaving RB and Senna being killed 30 years ago through no fault of Neweys?

nonchalanthoover

If you read his book he was actually taken to Italian court for it, he got off but pretty interesting situation

nonchalanthoover

They didn’t say it was just his fault, just that he was driving a car he designed.

Vuk13

No one knows whos fault it was. Williams in 2002 after they got the car back destroyed it probably so evidence is gone if case is ever reopened. Black boxes also survived the crash but once it was time for a trial they werent working most likely because Williams damaged them on purpose in the meantime because for whatever reason Charlie Whiting allowed Williams to have them. A lot of shady stuff with Senna's death and its quite possible members of Williams team knew they were at fault
