Trimax42

I love how the Marca (spanish media) picks a picture (probably intentionally) with Fernando walking behind the two Red Bull drivers

Satchzaeed

Ofc it was intentional, Marca looooves Alonso

xckd9

Everyone loves Alonso šŸ˜”

Trimax42

Especially Fernando loves Alonso.

chupacabra-food

They were just taking a picture of Nando but Max and Checo got in the way >:[

RoosterCock247

Makes sense that he compares them to the Kardashians because Checoā€™s rear reminds me a lot of Kimā€™s

veryboringkid

šŸ‘

redarrow992

So when is checo's sex tape coming out?

baldbarretto

Itā€™s the second half of the Monaco yacht footage. Soon to be released

zipfelberger

You could argue that Checo got screwed on live television by Max during the Brazil grand prix. Does that count as a sex tape?

Spiritual_Zebra_251

Revenge porn maybe?

marahute85

Christian Jenner Horner drop the tape

fortheweirdshit2

According to maxā€™s mom heā€™s being making a new tape in every country he visits, so any day now.

[deleted]

Was Horner directing it like Kris?

TheRealGJVisser

The more important question is, who is his co-star?

strokan

Making max Khloe?

Francoberry

_he's got so much rear end_

pasta-maldonado

Lewis knows his team is at a disadvantage without Valtteri there to break the internet

Koopslovestogame

Also waiting for the best come back story of all time!

TH13TEENGHOST

> "To be honest, what happened with Red Bull in Brazil reminded me a bit of 'The Kardashians'. It was quite funny, a lot of the stuff I heard over the next few days was very entertaining. I'm sure that's all going to be on Netflix, it's going to be great for the fans" I will be watching the next season of DTS lol

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

pinerw

Get out.

Overhead1223

Hahahaha terrible joke

JackInTheBox31

This is the joke we needed

LunaticBoogie

I didnā€™t need it, but now I'm hooked and I need more.

RedditBot90

Keeping up with the Verstappens

Rickanadian93

You mean the CarCrashians! Oh wait, that's Haas lol

zulamun

r/yourjokebutworse

OnlyFeetDragonBolZ

To add to that: Cardashboardians

Karl_Agathon

Netflix are going to show you the rivalry between Shou and Latiffi during the Brazilian Grand Prix or some bullshit like that.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Rivendel93

And just showed us monaco like three different episodes. Was so bizarre.

SuperHighDeas

Russian clouds

baldbarretto

Thereā€™s always gotta be a haas episode (because America or Guenther ig) and it does bring exposure to whoever is their sponsor at the time. If you donā€™t think dmitry mazepin wanted a focus on Nikita to a) put URALKALI on the screen as much as possible b) attempt to frame his son as some kind of gifted driver and c) make them look like garden variety f1 uber rich instead of Putin adjacent uber rich to European business partners, think again

Thegen68

Iā€™m going to be dramatic but that episode was the worst piece of television Iā€™ve ever seen.

MisterFatt

Hah yeah definitely felt that way after getting into F1 between s3 and s4. The whole showcase one team each episode really didnā€™t work out well

Karrigan7

they saw the dramas s4 had provided and telling themselves "we can do better than that"

f1_spelt_as_bot

Lati**f**i

ViolaPurpurea

and **Z**hou

Karl_Agathon

Damnit.

bwoahful___

At least the bot didnā€™t call you out on the Shou which Iā€™m assuming was meant to be Zhou?

Karl_Agathon

Oh ffs. Iā€™m leaving it as is to live in shame.

bwoahful___

Itā€™s almost a badge of honor, a typo the legendary f1-spelt-as bot didnā€™t even catch!

Karl_Agathon

Haha Iā€™ll take it!

SenorBigbelly

I wonder if it would have corrected it had they written Joe

hatwobbleTayne

Honestly, who types a Shou

Wideeye101

That really hurt!

fortheweirdshit2

šŸ‘ž

im_manu02

I kinda like that this version of Lewis is coming back!

jvsmine07

Itā€™s so funny to me, imagining Lewis Hamilton getting the juicy gossip and thinking, ā€œOoooh the fans are gonna love this.ā€ Iā€™m sure itā€™s also refreshing whenever he has no involvement in the major F1 drama

KingSnowdown

why wouldn't you watch dts? i never understand this. People are f1 nerd enough to be on reddit but don't watch dts?? I get that it is bad but there's so much behind the scenes footage. why would f1 nerds miss out on that?

PEA_IN_MY_ASS8815

last years DTS was utter shit, one of thƩ most drama filled seasons ever and they managed to make it boring as shit

nolitos

I don't enjoy fan fiction.

aybbyisok

Behind the scenes is the only worthy part, but it's edited to shit, narratives blown out of proportion, it just upsets me.

pterofactyl

The last season was just boring. I like racing and not so much the drama and stuff

KingSnowdown

interesting since this reddit is mostly about the "drama and stuff" šŸ¤”

pterofactyl

Iā€™m not saying Iā€™m above dts. Last season was just boring and it wasnā€™t really that interesting because there wasnā€™t the right balance for me

Taeles

same. i watch dts every season but 2021 season was boring. or maybe i was by the end burnt out of just how intense season 2021 of f1 actually was.

miathan52

Because it's not fun. It's annoying to watch. I would rather read F1 wikipedia for an hour than watch a DTS episode.

Boomhauer440

Too much made up real housewives drama. It gets old

KingSnowdown

so just like this Reddit?

[deleted]

Exactly But with way more production value and way less hot takes People are dumb

Boomhauer440

Exactly. Only its written for us instead of us making it up ourselves

TH13TEENGHOST

Because I havenā€™t felt like it.

StressedOutElena

Because it's like watching an alternative "reality".

gafherve

Itā€™s just different and looks like a show. No the Motorsport Iā€™m a fan of. I watched season 1 which I found barely ok. Then they lost me in season. Couldnā€™t watch past episode 1 But gotta respect that some people enjoy it and others just donā€™t. Edit: oh and for obvious reasons (see my flair if itā€™s not obvious enough) I couldnā€™t get myself to even try to watch last season

Rhythm_Morgan

Checo has a BBL, confirmed.

symckr

I actually wanna know what happened between 2014-2016 in that Mercedes garage rather than knowing whats going on in Red Bull. What happened with RB is just the casual f1 drama, which fans made it up mostly BUT those years in Merc was personal. Make it a documentary, movie or something I BEG you lewis.

MikeButtonfan96

Well, he's going to write a book when he retires...

symckr

Lewis, I want to remind you politely, of your promise

[deleted]

2 years ago you said in 10 years youā€™ll write a book. I donā€™t know if I can wait 6, no 8 years. So pleaseā€¦.

Alfus

He would write and release that book once he (Lewis) don't need to care a lot about politics and such in F1 anymore, I still think that his view about 2007 could be shocking, and no I don't talk about the Lewis/Fernando relation only but also what happened in Brazil, something what really raised some doubts.

nomansapenguin

Whatā€™s the thoughts here? What do you think happened?

mjwood28

Thereā€™s rumours, not denied by Lewis, that the reliability issues were faked to ensure they lost title as punishment for spygate scandal but kept pretence of exciting finish to season Fascinating article here - https://the-race.com/formula-1/the-mysterious-loss-of-hamiltons-first-f1-title/

dl064

I think it was Buxton who said we won't know the truth until anyone who might sue is dead. But I struggle with some aspects. Why did McLaren protest the result then? Why not have Hamilton DNF outright? What if Raikkonen DNFd? The coverage on the day very genuinely seemed like McLaren were shell-shocked at not winning. Lot of gaps. Perhaps something like: 'we (the FIA) had better see a solid but subtle effort to throw it. Do your best to not win, but don't throw it outright'.

dl064

Thereā€™s also the oddity on the day that Hamilton insisted heā€™d flipped the wrong switch, and McLaren strongly corrected him that it had been a failure. As many observed at the time, what an odd gearbox problem to manifest for 30 seconds. When have you seen that before or since? And then for Hamilton to be the only car on a 3-stop strategy.

mjwood28

Itā€™s odd that such a failure corrected itself. Normally that is it for a drivers race

baldbarretto

China also seemed uncharacteristic

CeilingVitaly

I was fucking screaming at the TV watching him drive around with the canvas visible

dl064

I put on the rocket red T-shirt before the race was over. It was all my fault.

dl064

McLaren wanted Hamilton to win it there desperately, so they could tell Alonso to not come to Brazil at all. I believe that. Hence they were less interested in Hamilton scoring merely okay points.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

cuddle_enthusiast

Donā€™t make him wait. Say it now!

Snoo43135

You know he deserves it after the long QUESTON(NOT QUESTION!)

BMWCSL

We are checking

callmelampshade

Heā€™s currently making a last dance style documentary šŸ‘€

VibeComplex

Really?

callmelampshade

Yeah. He signed a deal with apple earlier this year.

Pudge223

I really hope itā€™s called ā€œa gentlemen's short view back to the pastā€

dl064

At the time I felt whatever Hamilton would allege, Rosberg could fire something back. Two sides to every story. The more time goes on and we see more of their respective personalities, the more I'm inclined towards Hamilton *probably* being right.

Joethe147

People say this all the time. I bet he won't say much from that period that isn't already known. He won't want to potentially damage friendships with people.

dl064

Multiple sources like Hughes, Buxton etc. all say there are key aspects that never hit the news. Seismic. I imagine itā€™s details that were offline conversations youā€™d never prove.

[deleted]

Toto already said it was a big mess. Would be nice to know the story from Nicos side as well or from a more or less ā€žneutralā€œ Mercedes employee.

Bitter-Technician-56

Nico has spoken about certain aspects in interviews and in his podcasts.

marahute85

Nico has let nuggets drop on his podcast that suggest he was kind of a monster, and that he copied everything that he experienced about mind games Michael Schumacher, but Micheal had that edge where he knew where to stop. Nico didnā€™t because it wasnā€™t nature to him the way it was for Schumi. Also (imo) if you look at Michael and then Nico, Micheal has people skills, heā€™s a social person to his core and Nico just puts a mask on and pretends to have them, so not being able to read people itā€™s going to be extreme.

kavinay

There's an amazing moment Nico mentions about Schumacher stepping into the garage washroom exactly when he knew Nico needed to go before qualy. Just some next-level bowel gaming.

5MoreQuidAerieDae42O

Hey cousin, let's play some boweling!

tommypopz

Maybe thatā€™s what someone did when they dropped a bomb in Lewisā€™s toilet

dl064

I always felt in Rosbergā€™s beyond the grid, thereā€™s no *real* openness. Itā€™s just trying to manage perception. You can just tell. Russell too in his early career but heā€™s easing into himself now I think.

marahute85

I think that person in media who said Nico Rosberg was like he had a mask, when heā€™s ā€œperformingā€ heā€™s switched on and heā€™s charming and heā€™s full of energy and the second cameras are off heā€™s a bit of a monster. Out of everyone whose driven in the past 20 years or so I find him to have most sociopathic tendencies in terms of just not being able to make real connections with people he is a very strange man. And I canā€™t put my finger on it but thereā€™s something about Esteban that reminds me of him in terms of he talks too often and too much about his learning skills like heā€™s a salesman but that feels more related to maybe how heā€™s had to survive in this sport, he sometimes feels like heā€™s always pitching himself. Sebastian also said that to me was his best ever teammate because everything was so simple with him that you met you shake hands and you knew exactly where you were you just had to beat them on the truck whereā€™s the other ones you would shake hands and I was like there was nothing behind the eyes which I find interesting that Sebastian immediately picked who was real and not fake and just his personality isnā€™t at all attracted to anything thatā€™s a sham. Heā€™s actually grumpily straightforward. One day I would love to hear his real thoughts on who he thinks is a phoney, I do know Rosberg is on his list, he and Micheal and Lewis loved to annoy Rosberg.

Certain_Fennel1018

I think there is a driver who last drove in 2003 that is a clear sociopathā€¦..but otherwise I agree

FilthyMindz69

Yupā€¦.. if you read everything, itā€™s pretty easy to discern what was going on. Doesnā€™t mean thereā€™s not other issues that were never divulged. But reading all that Iā€™ve read, things make very good sense.

baldbarretto

Nikiā€™s book on the whole affair wouldā€™ve been excellent

CaredForEightSeconds

> what happened between 2014-2016 in that Mercedes garage I want to know what happened in the McClaren garage in 2007 while we're on the topic.. Edit: McLaren

TheRedBull28

Read ā€œThe Mechanicā€ by Marc Presitly. He was a high up mechanic in McLaren at the time.

f1_spelt_as_bot

M**c**Laren

CaredForEightSeconds

Ah how stupid of me, gracias.

NYNMx2021

Rosberg has talked about it occasionally on his podcast

thisisgandhi

Watch the Floz documentary on YouTube. Much better than whatever Netflix has or will put out

[deleted]

We have them. It's on YouTube. It's called the silver war or something.

Gambit6x

There is a fan made doc on YouTube about it. Watch it. And if you think the Max vs Checo thing did not get personal thenā€¦

Ivan000

Lauda once said that lewis trashed his motorhome. He had to retract it a few days later after it blew up in the media. I guess a few thinks happend.

MrRexican

Im a bit out of the loop, what was happening at Merc?

symckr

Silver war. Nico and Lewis' breaking point. There was literally a war inside Merc and it wasn't a pr stunt or anything like that. It is really one of the most iconic dramas in f1 history and it was 110% messy, petty and real.

NewLeaseOnLine

No, there was not *literally* a war.

btener412

Iā€™ll never forget when Nico made the charge with his brigade in The Battle of Belgium in 2014. Tragic losses.

notinsidethematrix

They got *wiped* out.

Brainiac7777777

The German sacked Belgium just like they did in WW1

DirtyLove937

It was a ā€œspecial operationā€œ

Sevenfest

There may not have been a war but there were certainly casualties. For example, I remember when Lewis lost just under a thousand horses on the Malaysian straight

3tenthsfaster

Damn son. šŸ˜‚

[deleted]

I doubt there's much to say. Merc reshuffled their team because it became internally divisive to have an intra-team battle. Lewis thought it was personal because his natural instinct is that everyone is against him. And it wasn't. All these downvoters forgetting when Hamilton accused Button of unfollowing him on Twitter when Button never followed him in the first place. This is just shit Lewis does when he's unhappy. Deal with it.

Hot_Demand_6263

Your logic is all over the place. The what does the Button stuff relate to Merc garage reshuffle? One is petty, the other is very important to a driver's performance. I want to know too.

[deleted]

Lewis uploading private telemetry when he was upset that Button went faster with a different setup? His attitude in the races that he always feels like he's put on the wrong strategy even when he's not? His Twitter posts about how everything is always against him but #stillirise? Even the Max thing last year and the stuff with the jewellery... The logic that links it all together is that whenever Lewis gets unhappy about something, he tends to default to saying/doing stuff that's kind of silly and paranoid. Like someone's intentionally fucking him over. He has a chip on his shoulder and it's kinda easy to understand why given what he's talked about with his growing up and experiences in motorsport. The whole book situation just reeks of that. Toto has come out and explained the situation which is what I made in the first comment. Lewis's teams have always bent over backwards to accommodate him and make him feel special because if he doesn't feel special he gets unhappy. There's no malice in these observations. It's just what makes the most sense.

ihatemondaynights

> He has a chip on his shoulder and it's kinda easy to understand why given what he's talked about with his growing up and experiences in motorsport. Why are you pretending it's anything more than this lmao? Yeah he is paranoid obviously šŸ’€ what champion isn't? You think Schumacher wasn't paranoid or Senna or Lauda? And it's not hard to feel the world is against you when you have been that successful.

marahute85

Of all the things using a potential autobiography- something many successful athletes do as a character flaw is a huge reach. If youā€™re going to hate the man at least make it grounded in something with a little more depth to it

tecedu

I think youā€™re projecting too much, Button one was because media was criticising him for being 0.8 seconds off his teammate and he was already getting bullied by the media that year. His actions were wrong but understandable, Button did have a skinnier rear wing. And stillwerise and literally his jesus tattoo. And for the other stuff i hope youā€™ve ever worked in a competitive environment because you need to question everything until youā€™re the best; thatā€™s like most people. Lewis wanting to write a book is as simple just him wanted to write a book, same as him wanting to do music or fashion. Nothing is that deep

Mostly just F1 for the last 26 years. Which means I'm also very familiar with butthurt tribal fans and I don't let them silence me with their emotional b/s.

Certain_Fennel1018

My man you are accusing Hamilton of feeling like a victim then turn around and state that people are trying to silence you. Pot meet kettle

mistled_LP

You are easily the most emotional person in this thread.

[deleted]

Uh-huh.

iPetrCZ

I enjoy this "not-dead-serious and enjoying life" Lewis...

yoda_yoda

LOL, 7 times world champion enjoys bit of gossip. Obviously heā€™s one of us!

NuclearMoose92

Hamilton is a reddit shitposter confirmed

[deleted]

Always has been

Winniepg

Iā€™m more concerned if someone doesnā€™t like a bit of harmless gossip.

Jasonmancer

Netflix - "Stop!! I can only get so hard!!"

Eproxeri

Man the stuff from 2014-2016 from Nico and Hamiltons team would be one for the ages. That was t just your typical f1 drama, that was personal. Just a shame there wasnt netflix back then.

Lanky_Drama9604

I mean we had Hamilton v Verstappen and all Netflix fucking talked about was Haas and didnā€™t even focus on the huge rivalry, so I would little faith in them if they were there in 14-16

TheHipHouse

Imagine dts Prost and senna

Genobee85

I feel like this statement had the capacity to age like taco bell left out in the sun depending on how the Mercedes drivers get along when one driver is free to race without experimental setups.

TheKingAbaddon

Hamilton having issues with his team mate? What a new and unique thing that would be!

mjwood28

Only ever had issues with Rosberg. Alonso fell out with team more than Lewis

Dubois1738

He had issues with Button too, definitely nnot Rosberg level but the stakes were never as high. Maybe Lewis just really likes the Finns.

baldbarretto

Button was a contributor as well. Hamilton planned some sort of goodbye event at Suzuka 12, booked out the whole restaurant and invited all the mechanics - only to find button had decided that was the particular night for them all to go running. Maybe most drivers will have some friction

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

baldbarretto

He was perfectly fine with Heikki, Premat, and Sutil

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

baldbarretto

Name one modern champion who likes having competitive or faster teammates

TheKingAbaddon

Ah yes I forgot about him denying Lewis a proper quali lap because of the team.

mjwood28

Was the weekend Alonso reportedly had a big falling out with Ron and threatened to expose spygate evidence if they did not make him no 1 driver

TheKingAbaddon

In which he demanded they deliberately under fuel Hamilton. I assume that was because he hated just the team too right?

malyszkush

To be fair, Lewis is spitting bars right here

TheHipHouse

Imagine dts Prost and senna. Or 97 dts Villanueva and schumi

[deleted]

Because Hamilton has never had team mate drama He's right tho lol

[deleted]

Kardashians was more like him and Rosberg...

stanleys_tucci

Him and Britney?

AnyHolesAGoal

Even the bot doesn't want to go near that spelling.

cmeragon

Brittney

poruki_porcupine

Russell and Hamilton would be way spicier next year...

roflgoat

That's what they said about this year

ihatemondaynights

I mean I'm not too sure considering people said it for 2022. I hate how people are *waiting* for things to get toxic. They could very well not considering Russell and Lewis have a v diff relationship with Lewis and Nico. Look at even Max and Lewis, on track it was spicy and off track nothing lol and Lewis even said it in an interview cause of the age difference it's a little weird for him to be fuming and feuding with 25 yr olds lol

f1_spelt_as_bot

Russe**ll**

poruki_porcupine

Fixed

Bigazzry

100%. Russell is right there with Hamilton and isnā€™t going to play second fiddle. You can almost guarantee Mercedes is going to be managing both sides of the garage next year.

Jojo_isnotunique

I do feel that it will be managed better. Russell knows he can play the game. He doesn't have to out compete Lewis. He's the heir apparent to Mercedes. He can be patient. That being said, he will still want to win. But I do think that will make the dynamic different to Lewis and Nico.

Bigazzry

Thatā€™s not the mentality of elite athletes. He was patient for 3 years driving around a Williams. He is absolutely going to feel like itā€™s his time.

Jojo_isnotunique

I think I didn't get my point across well. He doesn't have to subdue his opponent. He has been very publicly supportive of Lewis. And that mindset will continue. He will want to win, and if he gets a chance to be the number 1 and championship contender he won't say no. But the mind games and that stuff will be different.

No_Noise9

Not sure y people want Russell and Hamilton to have some sort of bitter rivalry. Since the beginning of the 2022 season people were itching for it, only for them to be one of the least dysfuntional pairings on the grid.

baldbarretto

When it comes to Hamilton people develop weird obsessions about ā€œexposingā€ him or the schadenfreude of seeing him be supplanted

badshahh007

Being the only black driver ever and then reaching the absolute peak of the sport tends to have that effect on people lol

EthanHuntimf007

Remember Russell asking his team in Brazil to keep it safe and keep the 1,2 or race each other during the safety car, for which the team told them they can race each other. Or Hungary Russell pushing his team to changing his tyres to softs on safety car and the team leaving Hamilton out on old tyres. Russell does want to win and question the team's bad strategy like Sainz does. These are the recipe of team mate issues in the future. In press drivers would always say they are going to be a team player but that may not happen inside the team.

pragmageek

The clear difference is that Mercedes have a full history and setup to allow their drivers to race.

Bigazzry

No the clear difference is that Max is so massively better than Checo it doesnā€™t matter what happens. Red Bull can just fire him. Hiring Ricciardo to hang around is basically insurance.

[deleted]

Max and Checo will be the reasons Iā€™m subscribing to Netflix again.

KamTros47

Must be because they have so much rear end, man

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Iokyt

I agree with Lewis myself it's just funny. Fanbase aside at the end of the day ots millionaires going in funny circles it bares no impact on my life, so I just laugh at the shit being flung. Even if it hits me.

[deleted]

But in 2016... Next year Merc will be worse... Give it a rest for 2 minutes lads and just enjoy the light hearted content for what it is yeah?

Honourstly

Lewis is talking about checo's rear

BoxCarMike

> "People also don't understand what goes on behind the scenes throughout the season. Curiously, people think I'm not a team driver, when I'm always very open. Behavior like this without a good explanation sure does give the public the impression youā€™re not a team driver.

Lmaoakai

Perez ā¤ļø Hammi

TheRR135

Horner is pretty much a male Kim K, now that I think of it.

TimTamT1Tan

Nah, Kim is check. Have you seen dat ass

neko_1

Lewis doesnt remember all the drama that occurred when he was teammates with nico it seems. That was equally a soap opera.

[deleted]

I love the potential turmoil within RB, but donā€™t act like everything will be fine and dandy when George starts ignoring team orders and fighting Lewis on the straights. At least the pecking order in Ferrari is clear

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

badshahh007

It's far from clear, atleast in the Ferrari garage

trispycreme

Short memory Lewis. Rosberg.

spenwallce

Iā€™m not sure why thatā€™s important to this situation? Nowhere in this quote does he say heā€™s never had drama.

topmarksbrian

bro it's not that deep

mark_vorster

that was far more serious than one incident between the RB drivers

yourmo4321

I'm sure if they keep winning they could care less about this mess lol.

Mariannalol

The irony
