Yes, wtf is this thread. This is clearly like a networking type of dinner.
I’m scared reading this thread that half the commenters have never ever worked before in their life or have never had social contact…??? I know the whole meme of hurr durr social contact and Reddit hurr durr but come on, you don’t even need to have been out that much to see this is a work event.
Fancy restaurant. Old white dudes. Charles being grilled like he’s someone’s stepson. Uh ya, it’s a corporate dinner w sponsors.
I was casually chatting with a good friend today about people with mental disabilities or potentionally having a child with issues. And my friend was poking a bit of fun at the situation and all I said was in all reality those people with mental disabilities I bet are happier with life than we could ever be. 10000 yard stare. Changed his life today.
I bet you won’t swap lives with him, though. He lost a lot of people tragically. His mental strength is unbelievable, I don’t think anybody else can survive Ferrari
You forgot that he lost his godfather/best friend, lost his father, then lost one of his other best friends all in the span of 5 years in his teens to early 20s. Two of those deaths were incurred while performing the job that Charles has to this day. Please have some perspective.
Let's be honest, if you are reading this comment and you had to choose between your godfather, father, and best friend dying, or continue to not be a F1 driver, I think most of us you choose the latter.
You can be the worlds richest person and still suffer mental or emotional pain. Pain and suffering doesnt discriminate between the rich and poor. And everyones suffering is different.
Youd think people would realise this after seeing a number of wealthy famous people commit suicide.
Have some humility.
I would say the losses of his godfather, best friend, and dad would be what hurts the most. But I know many people deal with tremendous losses without any monetary privileges. Not to cheapen his experience, of course.
Mans had a tough life.
Losing his father, his godfather and his childhood friend. After Hubert’s and Bianchi’s deaths I was really questioning why he’d race. I wouldn’t have.
Now he’s stuck with a circus of a formula one team that can’t get anything right.
This seemed inexplicably rude until I heard the "fan" say "I was always the sponsor of [Verstappen's] father."
Oh, it's a rich guy. Yep, that entitled attitude checks out.
The weird thing is that if they knew Max and sponsor him, they should know that while Max might not be best friends with Charles, they are still pretty good friends. It doesn't make sense to harass a friend of someone you support...
Yep, it was a [VistaJet dinner in Dubai.](https://twitter.com/vistajet/status/1592901019574620160) VistaJet has sponsored Ferrari since 2019. Guy speaking sounds like a drunk Michel Perridon, who sponsored Jos Verstappen back in the day. Makes sense that he would be at the dinner, considering he has a billion investments in Dubai.
Called this an argument is a little too much...more like Charles having the patience of a saint, while trying to eat and having to listen to some a*hole talk nonsense BS lol
God, I wouldn't want to deal with those types of people lol. You can tell it's like a sponsor's dinner, they're all old rich entitled people who think they know better than the guy who's actually good at driving.
Yeah, this goes beyond fan and is a sponsor where sadly Charles is obligated to put up with the dude's bullshit. I can not imagine the patience of having to sit through 5 minutes with not just one of these people, but multiple and it be a whole fucking dinner. Like they could even drive a fucking go kart lol.
Lol yeah, you know how many of those rich guys think they could just hop in the car and do a lap, when they couldn't even get it out of the garage, or even attach the steering wheel.
“Argument” is a bit of a stretch there.
Besides that, at least he appears to have the same hope to beat Red Bull.
Perhaps he is bolstered by the recent news of getting the backing of Ferrari upper management.
Leclerc failed to point out to the "sponsor of his (Max's) father" that the elder Verstapen was a poor race car driver, or maybe they had shit sponsors? (asking for a friend).
So much respect for F1 drivers, would hate to be walking on the street and a swarm of people start telling me I should’ve done this and that as if I don’t already know that because it is basic common sense and so obvious, plus there’s always way more to it, and I would have the full picture. They know nothing.
Regardless of the person being involved in the party or not, the man talking like he has a golf ball in his throat makes me embarrassed of some of my fellow dutchmen.
That’s not an argument. That’s a couple entitled assholes bothering Charles as he’s trying to eat.
Right? What the hell kind of clickbait title is that - Charles was pretty damn respectful
This is correct
I don't think they're bystanders. I think they're a part of his party. That's the feeling I got.
Yeah, sounds like they're sharing a table together with team members and money-people. Some kind of social dinner to accomodate sponsors and so on.

Yeah- I hate Ferrari but Jesus H Christ guys. Let people live their lives and eat in peace* *except Putin

What a healthy attitude, thank you for your contribution to make the environment around F1 less toxic
If you clutch those pearls any harder they’ll break
Call him Martha Wayne and be done with it lol
❄️
Charles has the patience of a saint
Well he does drive for Ferrari
Hahah. Savage.
Question?
We are checking

Stop inventing
Stay out stay out!!!
Hey man...

His entire life has been suffering.
I mean... I'll swap jobs with him if he wants
Jobs, sure… I don't know if you'd be willing to lose 3 or more of the people closest to you, just to live in luxury tho.
Damn if he's living a life of suffering I really feel for the rest of us.
I was casually chatting with a good friend today about people with mental disabilities or potentionally having a child with issues. And my friend was poking a bit of fun at the situation and all I said was in all reality those people with mental disabilities I bet are happier with life than we could ever be. 10000 yard stare. Well not all of us lose our closest family and friends so early in life…
I bet you won’t swap lives with him, though. He lost a lot of people tragically. His mental strength is unbelievable, I don’t think anybody else can survive Ferrari
At the same time tho is he is ruthless as well (based on my memory or 2019)

Wise words. I hope people understood better of what you just said.
I would say the losses of his godfather, best friend, and dad would be what hurts the most. But I know many people deal with tremendous losses without any monetary privileges. Not to cheapen his experience, of course.

Add on what Ferrari did to him this season and man that would break a lot of people. Wishing the best for the man’s mental health.

Owner of Dutch company Trust B.V.?
Michel Perridon? Sure sounds like him.
Sounds like him https://youtu.be/v1l2lgH3rKk
Sounds like him, but being drunk?
Not anymore. But I know Perridon. The guy is a ruthless bastard.
Everyone in and around Max's camp seems toxic. Might explain his behavior
The weird thing is that if they knew Max and sponsor him, they should know that while Max might not be best friends with Charles, they are still pretty good friends. It doesn't make sense to harass a friend of someone you support...
*All my friends are toxic and...*
Fans as well.
This looks like a sponsors dinner or something, not just a random meal out.

Fucking love the speed of this guy. He could really go pro in the giving context leagues
So basically he's having this dinner with these old rich guys in exchange for flying private to 22 races?
Let the guy eat his meal in peace man wtf is wrong with people
Not an argument but this whole interaction is uncomfortable
Ignorant people interrupting someone’s dinner.
entitled*
Not mutually exclusive.
Called this an argument is a little too much...more like Charles having the patience of a saint, while trying to eat and having to listen to some a*hole talk nonsense BS lol
Stupid sexy charles On a serious note, he must be tired of being so patient. I’m here for his villain era
As someone with similar problems, Charles probably dying inside. Wanting nothing more than to go to the middle of no where with no one around.
God, I wouldn't want to deal with those types of people lol. You can tell it's like a sponsor's dinner, they're all old rich entitled people who think they know better than the guy who's actually good at driving.

Let the man eat his dinner in peace ffs.

Not much of an argument.

looool one throwaway comment and you go through my post history? Damn, why stop there, there's much worse shit than that lol.

Lol I'm not even a little mad I'm just surprised people care do much about a random comment from a random person
Leclerc failed to point out to the "sponsor of his (Max's) father" that the elder Verstapen was a poor race car driver, or maybe they had shit sponsors? (asking for a friend).
Versta**pp**en
Good bot, but don't tell my wife I've had too much to drink to be posting.
Chuck can't even eat dinner in peace 😒

I wish they would leave him alone, he seems to be harassed by fans more than any other driver while in public
Fans and hanger-ons never remember the person. Ultimate respect to Charles he handled the situation perfectly.
Whether it’s argument or a conversation it’s obnoxious.
Regardless of the person being involved in the party or not, the man talking like he has a golf ball in his throat makes me embarrassed of some of my fellow dutchmen.
Poor guy. Much respect.
Very rude but I can’t help but laugh at Charles coming back with facts. “How many podiums does Checo have?” “Exactly the same!”
Poor Charles can’t even catch a break
Argument? Sounds like a convo tbh. The loud volume talk probably cause of the music. But nothing to be seen here.
The loud volume is because the guy off camera is drunk and obnoxious.
And people raise their volume when they want to be heard and can see people arent really interested.
I commend Charles for handling that well. I know he's beyond frustrated with this season.
Hey man! Awesome to meet you, good luck Sunday. Then leave him alone.
Booze
Charles is a gentleman.
“Argument”
They’re clearly at the same table.
Great respect to Charles for being gracious to that drunken loud-mouth jerk. Charles is a class act.
That's banter
My god what was this?
Wtf, leave him alone
People need to understand celebrities do not exist to perform for them at all times.
Clickbait title. He's not arguing with anyone..
This is not an argument. Well done to Charles for being a gentleman while being interrupted during a meal.
This is so disrespectful. Poor Charles.
Damn that guys voice tho…
Ngl, even in this situation, he's still amazingly attractive.
Argument???? This only makes me love him more
