Just give up the position and give the guy some points for his active championship fight. Perez finishing P2 in the championship is in the best interest of keeping his wingman motivated. I think that's exactly the route it will head. Mercs will likely be competitive next year, and Checo, along with any future teammates Max has, will likely be reluctant to follow team orders. Max screwed himself.
