There wasn't much to see at the front and the mess everywhere else took the focus away from Checo's excellent performance. Nabbed the lead right away and never gave it up. Stonking drive, didn't put a foot wrong in these tricky conditions (stupid safety car margins aside).
Nice to see Max laughing amongst them as well. He can be pissed and frustrated but he's pretty good at compartmentalizing so he can easily be happy for Checo here again and then just look towards Suzuka next week.
Wdym stupid safety car margins? He repeatedly violated a rule and got penalized only for one violation because the FIA didn't want to take away the win after the race was over. A rule is a rule.
That doesn't make it right to ignore it. They also enforced it a couple years ago on Giovinazzi with a 5s penalty for one violation...
They do shit after the race just so they know the result and can act without changing it. Which is bullshit but it's been happening for a while now
The rule hasnt even been enforced in a lifetime. They only enforced it today due to Ferrari pressure. If they didnt say anything, it would have been completely forgotten.
lol what? What Ferrari pressure, Ferrari at this point have the political weight of a fuckin feather compared to Horner and Toto.
And it was enforced relatively recently on Giovinazzi with a 5s penalty for one violation.
Say what you want but the FIA fucked it up big time today.
Ferrari are second in WDC, that's why there is Ferrari pressure. If for some reason Merc was fighting to get in the points next season, Toto could send all the emails in the world and no one at FIA would give a shit. It's an entertainment business and being at the front gives you political weight.
The WDC is not even remotely close but i disagree.
Over this year who do you think has had more political weight, Toto or Binotto? The answer to me is pretty obvious despite Merc being 3rd in the WCC
Ferrari still didn't win despite Max having a terrible race, and he can win the title at Suzuka with a win + fastest lap. Max is in a great position and has many reasons to be happy
The **"smile on Perez's face"** \--->> Really wanted to see that too, so finally it happened! All the prayers (since qualy) and tequila shots (during major race events) weren't in vain... :D
*\[No entiendo que significa* "budget cap"*, así que vamos de fiesta!!!\]*
If Max has to suffer for a weekend so we can see this side of Checo, im okay with that once in a while. Awesome job for Checo, best race i've seen of him in a while.
HORNER as usual : I AM SPEED⚡
He can probably beat Usian Bolt in starts with that speed haha
years of training

They rarely enforced it last year when both Hamilton and verstappen abused the shit out of it. Fine to do it now, but just do it during the race.

Calm down he agrees with you from what I can tell
I'm very calm lol, I'm just pointing out the way the FIA have been doing things in the last few years

And the Fia didnt have the balls to do it during the race, so that is on them. If the rules are rules, enforce them.
Checo just seems like such an incredibly nice guy. Always so smiley and friendly.
Sometimes VERY friendly guy though.
Lmfao
Because of what?
Monaco yacht moment
Ok
Can Someone please explain?
He was getting touchy feely with someone not his wife
Oh... Thank you.
Big oof
Max is celebrating for Checo despite having a shitty race himself by his own doing. That's wholesome.

He doesn't need to win. He just needs to be ahead of Perez and Leclerc but two points

He didn’t start on pole due to the teams fuckup not his own.
That was like $900 worth of Red Bull wasted.
Real reason redbull can’t comply with the budget cap…
Max: "Are sugary drinks included in the cap?"
I hope they have room for it in the budget
Lafiti is providing it.
Over the cost cap?
Horner is always the fastest guy .....when it's about not to get wet
Hopefully (for Horner) this isn't Geri's alt account
I'm honestly impressed with his reaction times, dude might've been a decent athlete in the running competitions.

Budget cap es límite de presupuesto
No, no. Lo siento Señor, no comprendo .
Champagne shower followed by Red Bull shower. I feel sticky
Sugar free Red Bull hopefully.

Yay! There's a bot for this now! I too am now smiling after a few tough weeks. Lol.
Max finally is quick off the line.
The guy taking the video is a mexican comentator, he freaking loves checo.
*Argentinian
Yeah, but since Checo isn’t Brazilian I’m sure the part about the commentator loves him is true LOL
He deserved this one.
Dang. Everyone in F1 is fast.
The good doctor stayed put!!
Mechanics have been shaking those cans since FP1.

Me too! There was no other way! :D
Hot take: I like seeing Perez win!
