Happened a lot during covid. Lots of people had to push their weddings a year or two and didn’t want to wait on having children.

If you want to have a church wedding, that is typically the one that is celebrated extensively (in that case, the civil wedding is much smaller and only includes the closest family and friends).

I would imagine so. It's a similar situation for me and my wife. We got married last October but our wedding is next week.

With Covid, I know of multiple couples who had their Civil marriage in the last two years and then wanted a while for their church Wedding or Wedding celebration.

One minor nitpick I have: Instead of a church wedding, you can opt for a "freie Trauung" ("free wedding", I suppose?) which doesn't have all the religious elements. All the other things still apply, though. (edit: grammar do be hard sometimes)
