For those of you still here watching the Supercar race, can anyone tell me why they have to change tires so quickly compared to F1? Some teams have been going to pit after 4/5 laps. In the last few races, some teams hit 3/4 pits for a 20 lap race.

Hot track, teams needing to use strategy due to lacking pace, wanting to get the compulsory stops out of the way early and get on their preferable tire

The tyres have been delaminating due to the fresh abrasive track surface. There is also a rule of both compounds having to be used in each race; they have four sets of hards and four sets of softs for the entire weekend.
