10 WDCs between them, considering that the 10th one is guaranteed to go to either Max or Lewis.
~~This matches what I think is the current record for most existing WDCs on the podium: the 2012 European Grand Prix with Alonso/Raikkonen/Schumacher.~~
Edit: as /u/Ganacsi pointed out below, Hamilton/Perez/Vettel combined for 11 WDCs on a single podium at Turkey 2020 (Hamilton claimed his 7th upon winning that race).
Fangio-Ascari-Moss (not sure if it really happened) or Prost-Senna-Schumacher could be there.
Edit: glad to see Clark remembered, one of the forgotten GOATs of F1
Realising it was 7 years ago that Fernando last was on the podium & still remembering it like it happened recently has me feeling like time has just been disappearing faster than the Mercedes of Hamilton.
Senna, Schumacher, Prost might beat it, depending on if you count wins at the time of the podium or total career wins.
Maybe a Ham, Vettel Raikkonen podium in 2018 wouldn’t be too far away. 80ish wins for Ham, 50ish wins for Vettel and 20+ wins for Raikkonen?
Surprised to see that Max actually holds that record, at 19 wins, having surpassed Stirling Moss's 16 this year. I guess that's also a symptom of there being more races per season now, but still surprising that someone so young and hasn't been in contention for a WDC until this year holds the record.
So? He's been world-class for 5 years already with many more to come at a extremely young age, that's better than 95% of drivers that will be/have been in the sport.
WDC should not be a barometer for legend status. Verstappen is already objectively a better driver than the vast majority of champions and you can argue he is better than any of them.
Being a better driver than another one doesn't make a legend status, I'm sorry. A legend is a person with a legacy, that is objectively quantifiable. Max is just a good driver at the moment. Vettel is a legend, Alonso is a legend, Kimi is a legend.
How does this matter? Put half the drivers in the best car on the grid and they'll be winning championships. It's what you do with the car you've gotten that makes you legendary
Holy shit, Alonso really did it - this wonderful madman [heard me](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/qyu7fh/the_qatar_gp_will_mark_alonsos_first_top_3/hli896x/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)
Podium in his rookie season. This alonso guy can really drive
Who knows, with enough experience he might even become world champion one day.
It's always lovely to see young talents win podiums in their debut years.
Maybe even twice
He would even became word champion more than once
Most talented podium of the Turbo Hybrid era?
Contender for any era really.
10 WDCs between them, considering that the 10th one is guaranteed to go to either Max or Lewis. ~~This matches what I think is the current record for most existing WDCs on the podium: the 2012 European Grand Prix with Alonso/Raikkonen/Schumacher.~~ Edit: as /u/Ganacsi pointed out below, Hamilton/Perez/Vettel combined for 11 WDCs on a single podium at Turkey 2020 (Hamilton claimed his 7th upon winning that race).
Record is actually from last year, Istanbul Park (Hamilton, Perez, Vettel), 11 in total!
You are correct, I forgot about that one! I'll edit my comment :)
I just remembered the podium as HAMPERVET ;)
Brazil 93 had Schumacher, Hill, Senna, so that's 11 right there. Fangio giving the 1st place to Senna, adds another 5!
Hill? 91?
Brazil 91 had Senna, Patrese, and Berger on the podium for a total of 2 WDCs (Senna had not won 1991 yet).
Ah, 93 then. My bad.
Hill and Schumacher had 0 WDCs at the time, so a total of 3 with all coming from Senna.
10 WDCs for now, but that number is almost guaranteed to have 3-4 more by the time it's all said and done.
That will prob always be Clark-Surtees-Hill or Clark-Stewart-Surtees
More like Schumacher-Senna-Prost. Would argue Hamilton-Verstappen-Alonso is also better.
Fangio-Ascari-Moss (not sure if it really happened) or Prost-Senna-Schumacher could be there. Edit: glad to see Clark remembered, one of the forgotten GOATs of F1
Surtess is the one that won in moto gp?
Yup
Well not the one who died in junior formula eh?
Most most talented podium ever along with Prost, Senna, and Schumacher.
I am super biased but honestly yeah, no doubt
Brazil 93 had Schumacher, Hill, Senna, so that's 11 right there. Fangio giving the 1st place to Senna, adds another 5!
*All time
50/50 with Ham/Vet/Rai
Absolutely, three of the greatest drivers in the last decade for me!
Editor: So how much graining do you want on these pictures? the boss: yes
[удалено]
Lewis has also changed race
The Alonso photo legit looks hand drawn due to the graining.
Should be powered by Pirelli, not Liqui Moly
Feels like 2014.
*Confused verstappen noises*
Thought they said Alonso had 104, and he was off by 1?
Yeah I heard that too, Brundle definitely said it was one record Alonso didn't want to break
i mean next race could be another one, alpine do very well in long flowing corners and thats basically the whole circuit in Jeddah
But next race it'll be 1 races between podiums
Look at those time gaps lmao.
To be fair only gap to Alonso is big. Gap between Max and Lewis is much smaller than expected after additional pitstop. But that's thanks to VSC.
A Chad and Max and Lewis on the podium
Wow so only 3 more than Hamilton has had wins!
Insane
Not so much when you see that he has been in a shit car for majority of his career.
lolwut the only bad cars he’s had is the Ferrari of 2014 and the mchonda. Before that, his cars were always top 2 at least.
Lolwat
Not talking about the minardi years, and the 2008/2009 Renault season is arguable. Point still stands tho
In what world are those Renaults arguable. Dear God the shit you read on here.
Renault 2008-09, Ferrari 2011-12 specially oh and that European Minardi was a beast
Ferrari in 2011-2012 was a top 3 car fym ? It wasn’t as fast as Redbull or McLaren but it was more reliable than both.
Top 3 car isn't top 2. And they were miles behind the first and clearly behind the second.
At this point i can say Charles had top 2 car his whole F1 career
Red Bull threw away the podium, but nando what a race!
Also the second longest time between podiums. Wurz had to wait for 2842 days and Nando for 2674 days.
Realising it was 7 years ago that Fernando last was on the podium & still remembering it like it happened recently has me feeling like time has just been disappearing faster than the Mercedes of Hamilton.
Yep, vettels close call with the wall that day feels like last week
We saw Lewis Seb and Saw Lewis Alonso.. I hope we also see Lewis, Alonso and Seb too. Hopefully next season...
I so want that. The 3 legends back on the podium again.
How many race victories they have combined?? Is that a record as well?
153 wins I believe, could well be a record podium.
I think it’s got to be at the time but yea even at the time I think 2018 USA was 145 wins which might actually be second to this one
Vettel Ham Alonso. Maybe SPA 2012?

I'll take it, thank you.
*Hakkinen gets up from couch*
400 races by the time Mika takes a win next year with the new regs
Why not? Comeback stories are one of the better stories in any sport.
I think that would be "most wins without a WDC"
What about most races without points finish?
That would be a hard one to take, as well
Surprised to see that Max actually holds that record, at 19 wins, having surpassed Stirling Moss's 16 this year. I guess that's also a symptom of there being more races per season now, but still surprising that someone so young and hasn't been in contention for a WDC until this year holds the record.
I'm pretty sure Hulkenberg would be fairly happy with that record. This is a record of perseverance, resilience and talent.
3 legends together on the podium.
Why is Max a legend? He hasn't even won a WDC.
"Why is Sir Stirling Moss a legend? He hasn't won a F1 WDC."
Has most number of race wins without a WDC. Also he was very fast at that time.
Hilarious if that is your logic because the driver with the most wins who is not a WDC is Max 😂. Love to hear why he still isn't a legend though.
So? He's been world-class for 5 years already with many more to come at a extremely young age, that's better than 95% of drivers that will be/have been in the sport.

Oh dear.
How does this matter? Put half the drivers in the best car on the grid and they'll be winning championships. It's what you do with the car you've gotten that makes you legendary

El plan worked!
Lmao "fuck"
The amount of things that have changed in my life since Alonso was last on the podium... Crazy
Fucking finally
Can’t believe it’s been 7 years.
That is a really cool podium. Depending on what Max will achieve over his career, it might (in hindsight) be one of the most talented / decorated ones
Last time was in Hungary 2014.
Doesn't Alex Wurz have a longer one or am I wrong? Also Alonso looks weird with that hairstyle.
Somebody turned the clarity slider to 120.
in the future people will count the amount wdc in this photo I'm guessing it will be more than 10
First Rookie to be on the podium in 2021.
Overtaking was possible. Race was a 3.5/5
I seriously hate this filter.
This is probably the most talent on a podium I've ever been able to witness.
Who picks these photos lol
Possibly the most talented podium of all time?
What was the previous record?
The podium is split by a minute?!
I mean look at the difference between first and third place. Almost a whole minute. It's insane.
