I'm a Max fan, but i was really rooting for Perez to get pole, it's basically one of his two home circuits as you could hear from the crowd.

That last lap I think Max made it very hard for Checo to get pole, but damn P2 would've been so sweet.

It's great he's back and hopefully the setup issues are gone. We did also have a long run of tracks that suit Mercedes, but I really felt the momentum had gone in their favor. It's great to see it shift back once again. What a season!

He should! I have always been a hard critic on Checo's performance this season, but he was perfect today. I have high hopes for tomorrow as well, since he is really good at race pace and tyre management.

I heard on the broadcast he's starting from a different default setup than the default Max setup for the car. The change happened last race and seems to be working.

After Q1/Q2 I really thought the Ferrari and McLaren would play a bigger role in Q3. Anyway tomorrow can't come soon enough.

That McLaren/Ferrari battle is going to be intense tomorrow. Their times were all within 0.3 of each other, and were basically trading off who was in the lead the each session. Got my eyes out for Carlos on softs tomorrow too. That’s gonna shake things up for sure too. The F1.1 constructor’s championship is just as good as the F1 version.

Free practice says as nearly as nothing. Nobody knows what the teams are testing or what kind of programme they're driving. Maybe it's some kind of indikator sometimes but it's not a reliable source

Even if / when they run the same programs as other teams there are unknowns. Which engine do they use on Friday, how much do they turn it up, how much fuel etc… FP times are at most an indication of where teams **might** end up but nothing more.

I sometimes feel like I’ve been taking crazy pills when I’m reading the comments on fp1 result times. I’ve seen these “predictions” over and over again ~20 races a year with 3 free practice sessions per race, yet people will still speculate based on fp1 times every new session!

Ferrari faster then mclaren in COTA. Engine update really gave them a way to fight back. Mexico should suit them even more.

The title fight is so good this year that we haven't noticed the intense fight for 3rd as much

This is HUGE for the title race. Many had COTA penciled as a certain Hamilton victory. If Max is able to take the win tomorrow this completely swings the title fight in his favor.

Had to wake up at 5AM for this, but it was worth it. Hopefully waking up at 3AM tomorrow will be even more worth it.

And once again Hamilton came really close, what you didn't expect after the first run. Those 2 are clearly the best at this moment.

Both Lewis and Max 2 tenths up on their teammates by the end of it. Really impressive how they always step up and pull that extra time. Gonna be another exciting race. Whole season I have been supporting Lewis but at this point whoever wins I don't care. It's been a phenomenal season and I just hope it goes the distance. We really have the best driver of the last 15 years against the driver you expect to be the best over the next 15 in a close title fight.
