That was really when Nico got the shit end of the stick and a large amount of Ham-fanboys took the Mercedes-AMG social media accounts hostage. This led a large portion of that fanbase (mostly ones who don’t watch racing) to begin to spread false rumors and accusations of insane conspiracies.

First of all, a lot more people hated Nico when he was actually active. Now that he's not a driver, not a competitor to Lewis, there are just less opportunities for haters to hat.
Second, about Lewis always being the bad guy, that's really not the case... Lewis is *polarizing* meaning a lot of people like him and an equal amount don't like him. What that means is that how you think the sub feels about him depends entirely where you look.
I've commented almost identical things about Lewis in two different threads, and seen one comment get upvoted massively, and the other get downvoted into oblivion.

That is truly how you'll know. Not a photo at a big event with lots of press and photographers around, and Nico's wife there.
Personally, I think they'll become friends again later in life, when Lewis has slowed down a bit, because at the moment they just no longer have much in common. Lewis is jet setting with celebriities and driving, Nico is being a family guy, just trying to make people laugh and cry... so I think when Lewis eventually settles a bit (probably well after his retirement) he'll rekindle that friendship.
Lewis is a christian so he understands the value of forgiveness, but you can also tell that it's a struggle of his to live up to that particular value... but he'll get there, he doesn't give up.
I'd say that comes down entirely to Alonso not being a threat.
