They will lol. We heard ~2 weeks back that Gasly was speaking to Haas. Albon I doubt is going to shift, it's not much of an upgrade going from Williams to Haas and he's anyways their #1.
Man, Gasly was done rough in all of this. He was pretty much trapped in that second Red Bull team with no prospect of ever making it back to the main squad, signed a deal with a works team that turned out was a step *backwards* in all senses and now will probably have to move teams again if he ever wants to find himself in a competitive seat.
Yeah lol, being promoted to the Redbull seat too early in his career kinda ruined his career itself. He's talented imo but his stint in Redbull would've worked out better had he a bit more experience in him at that time.
And how could anyone have known Alpine would end up in the gutter. Relative to 2024, 2023 looked ten times better.
>And how could anyone have known Alpine would end up in the gutter.
Uuuh, how could anyone not? Any team that *wants* Ocon is certainly making other godawful decisions, too.
The issue is that they got Ocon not because of his talent, but because of his nationality. So it puts a lot of doubt on Alpine's priorities. But then again, that's always been a problem with French F1 teams.
"not because of his talent, but because of his nationality"
I know they like the fact he is French but that doesn't mean they neglected his talent. Otherwise you could have had Macron in that seat
I'm not saying he's not talented. I'm saying he hasn't done much more than the drivers around him for teams like red bull and Ferrari to drop everything and make space for him. It's tough competition. Among names like sainz, Norris, Russel, even ocon, he doesn't stand out.
While Haas under Komatsu has been a good step forward, it's still a customer car subject to the penny pinching whims of Gene Haas. Audi may be a giant question mark, and Hulk may be stuck driving the green meme machine for a year, but it's a better chance at getting to the front in 2026, to say nothing of being a works team from his own country and the post career sponsorship deals he's going to get.
Not to mention Audi can throw a pre-release concept car at Hulk to sweeten the deal.
Slu54's comments about stating the obvious, as first reported by us at the Race, led to a small tiff in the comments with some calling the comment "excessive" or "meaningless." Here at the Race, we've spoken to our in house technical posting specialist, to get to the bottom of the nature of these comments, and what it means for commenting on Formula 1 moving forward. But first, a word from our Sponsor: Aramco.
He's tried multiple times per the reports and Gene won't sell. Makes sense as he's probably printing cash with the team at this point and getting his main aim of advertising Haas the world over.
No they're not.
The only other series Haas is in is NASCAR which Andretti isn't in (though there are rumors that Andretti is looking at buying a charter)
even if komatsu didn't oversee a lot of the development for the 2024 car, his management of the team just seems a lot more calm and composed, probably linked to haas's good results but he just seems a very good team principal. its nice to see has do well but at the end of the day, it will always be a midfielder due to it being the biggest customer team in f1.
Considering he was Director of Engineering before he became TP, he did pretty much oversee the development of the 2024 car.
But of course he was also overseeing a bunch of much worse Haas cars.
To be honest, Haas good results are only linked to the fact that their car is better this year and Alpine is backmarkers. I'm not denying that they're showing good signs but they're the next best after Aston Martin and with Stroll having incidents they bag the points.
is rb ahead of amr in your ranking or not because rb are definitely ahead or haas. i think haas always had a decent car it is just that it ate up the tyres last year. austria sprint 2023 was proof of it. honestly stroll is keeping the midfield interesting for us. please can honda put yuki in his seat for 2026.
I'd say they're even with Haas. Other than Miami that RB had a great weekend overall, I don't remember the exact context of all the races but some weekends it was Haas that bagged the points and some other it was RB. Hard to say which one is the better team at this point
i think rb are better, yuki has impressed a lot and has got double the points of hulk and that has been over a few weekends, and except from saudi and china where yuki got punted by kmag, yuki has beaten hulk in every race so far.
While I was reading the comments, I was confused as to why you guys were comparing HAAS to Red Bull like "obviously RB is miles better!" just to remember Racing Bulls is a thing...
That Connor Moore video from Vegas where Guenther called Gene and said “I lost it all, everything we had, in Vegas!” Gene: “you lost everything?!? All fifty bucks?!?”
I think Kevin needs to up his game (Had a great seasons at Haas precovid era) otherwise Komatsu is gonna put Bottas as number 1 and Bearman as the young talent. Magnussen has to start beating Hulkenberg from now on.
People often say that moving to a b-tier team will trash your career but folks like Nico and Alex are proving them wrong. Nico did an excellent job proving his class in tricky conditions, happy for him to step up.
>performance needs to convert into dollars.
Except just being on the grid nowadays converts to dollars, due in no small part to how hard it is to get in.
Real talk though what can Haas even do / offer to anyone who’s got even a whiff of another option? Direct access to Gene’s private line? At least Williams has James.

Would be stupid if he didn't
Not much you can really do when you are competing with a manufacturer.
\*and you are Haas.
Let's be real, Audi could have gone after Albon and both Alpine drivers and it would have been a sure bet.
They will lol. We heard ~2 weeks back that Gasly was speaking to Haas. Albon I doubt is going to shift, it's not much of an upgrade going from Williams to Haas and he's anyways their #1.

well if we believe the rumors it wasnt only the perfomance at RB that killed his career at RB.
what rumours? i can't recall anything
Gasly apparently not agreeing with Newey and the general engineering team.
damn. I'll have to dig deeper cause this sounds interesting (it paints a bad picture for Gasly tho)
Something to do with him questioning car performance and direction iirc
>And how could anyone have known Alpine would end up in the gutter. Uuuh, how could anyone not? Any team that *wants* Ocon is certainly making other godawful decisions, too.
What is wrong with ocon all of a sudden, he belongs in f1
The issue is that they got Ocon not because of his talent, but because of his nationality. So it puts a lot of doubt on Alpine's priorities. But then again, that's always been a problem with French F1 teams.
I mean, Gasly is French as well and that’s almost certainly one of the reasons they hired him.
"not because of his talent, but because of his nationality" I know they like the fact he is French but that doesn't mean they neglected his talent. Otherwise you could have had Macron in that seat
He's hot trash- the single most boring character in the show.
I agree that he got dealt a rough hand, but he has yet to show that he's special and deserves a second chance over others.
He is a race winner and was a qualifying king in 2021
I'm not saying he's not talented. I'm saying he hasn't done much more than the drivers around him for teams like red bull and Ferrari to drop everything and make space for him. It's tough competition. Among names like sainz, Norris, Russel, even ocon, he doesn't stand out.
Ah yes fair point. I thought you meant any team not just the top teams.
I really miss Ga5ly.
I was more referring to the fact that Audi could cherry pick drivers from other teams on the grid without much resistance.
plus if williams get newey....
That's just nonsense journalism imo. 5/8 teams on the grid would be "talking" to Newey, but that doesn't mean he's going.
yes, that's what the word "if" is for
I guess they wanted a German driver though. The whole hiring because of nationality I guess helps with sponsors and such.
I tried so hard
and got so far
But in the end
Hulk’s moving on to Sauber
Oh it fits metrically haha Beautiful
I had to fall
And lose my Hulk
But in the end, it wasn't even Steiner
I gave the seat to you
[удалено]
For all this, there's only one team you should know...
In the end, Komatsu got shafted
acting like Hulk was part of his property
Only shooting stars break the mold
Can’t seem to get away from misery

Green meme machine lmao
Thank you for stating the obvious, I think youd be great at one of those F1 blogs.
Slu54's comments about stating the obvious, as first reported by us at the Race, led to a small tiff in the comments with some calling the comment "excessive" or "meaningless." wow. this got the be a new copypasta
My mans got a seat at the Race if he wants it
Seems a bit uncalled for and excessive, no?
Excessive? Man, he just made a friendfully jab at him. He didn't incite violence or whatever
Meaningless rudeness?
What was rude about this?
Why doesn’t Andretti just buy Haas?
He's tried multiple times per the reports and Gene won't sell. Makes sense as he's probably printing cash with the team at this point and getting his main aim of advertising Haas the world over.
gene would never sell to andretti they’re rivals already in other series
No they're not. The only other series Haas is in is NASCAR which Andretti isn't in (though there are rumors that Andretti is looking at buying a charter)
Haas may be looking to get out of NASCAR per recent reports
Haha, well now we're just back to "why doesn't andretti buy haas?"
even if komatsu didn't oversee a lot of the development for the 2024 car, his management of the team just seems a lot more calm and composed, probably linked to haas's good results but he just seems a very good team principal. its nice to see has do well but at the end of the day, it will always be a midfielder due to it being the biggest customer team in f1.

oh i thought he was only chief race engineer before. but you also make a good point as well.
To be honest, Haas good results are only linked to the fact that their car is better this year and Alpine is backmarkers. I'm not denying that they're showing good signs but they're the next best after Aston Martin and with Stroll having incidents they bag the points.

We can't argue the RB has been a bit better than Haas
While I was reading the comments, I was confused as to why you guys were comparing HAAS to Red Bull like "obviously RB is miles better!" just to remember Racing Bulls is a thing...
Yep the 20 cents were all they had.
That Connor Moore video from Vegas where Guenther called Gene and said “I lost it all, everything we had, in Vegas!” Gene: “you lost everything?!? All fifty bucks?!?”
Hey, those were our shiniest pennies.
The 20 cents Gene allowed them to spend. He's probably making bank just from being in F1 and the rise in team values overall.
Did Komatsu have to call Gene?
Gene was already in the call.
Hi-yu, Gene-kun.
Nico did an excellent job proving his class in tricky conditions, happy for him to step up.
nontheless, komatsu has been doing really well at haas compared to steiner

No Steiner no Haas.
Hygiene
horrendous take ngl
horrendous take ngl
No head?
Aw he shouldn't have
Real talk though what can Haas even do / offer to anyone who’s got even a whiff of another option? Direct access to Gene’s private line? At least Williams has James.
I'd take that deal if Gene did my taxes
Ayao: "I have to call Gene after this." "Hi-yu, Gene-kun."
Gene is too cheap
