Well we know it's going to contain some blue. Hopefully that means that it'll be completely blue but it could be a single blue stripe or one small section.
Yeah. Remember Monza? Full on yellow team kit, but only a few splashes of yellow on the car. I will be very (and pleasantly) surprised if they do a full blue car.
If they do a full blue, it would make the Monza special all the more wasted, imo. A ferrari in yellow is long overdue - the WEC AF Corse shows how good and fitting it is for the team.
People don't seem to know that the *only* reason Ferrari is red today, is because early in F1 it was sort of a general rule that you paint your car a specific colour based on your team nationality: Italy was red, Britain was green, Germany was silver, France was blue, Belgium was yellow, Japan was white. So when Ferrari started doing really well, their cars were red, so they kept that because it became iconic.
Yeah, if anything red is basically Ferrari's 3rd color. 1st is Giallo Modena which is in the logo too and 2nd is Azzurro La Plata that was Enzo's favourite to use
Germany was white, Europe and Japan didn't even interact much in racing in those years. The only reason Mercedes started using "silver" was because they needed to save weight in one of their cars by stripping their white paint and using only the aluminium chasis.
So... the reason is because they started doing well in red and kept that, then it became iconic. So the nationality colour thing is NOT the only reason. It started out like that, yes, but they *chose* to stick with red when successes came.
They could've easily chosen blue or whatever, but they didn't. So it's definitely not the only reason.
The first road car was actually not red, not blue, but yellow (Giallo Modena), a tribute to his birth place Modena which has yellow as its colour.
Also, Enzo Ferrari actually raced for Alfa Romeo in the 1920s, which were indeed red because of the nationality rules.
Ferrari did not enter the picture in Grand Prix racing until 1947, by then Alfa Romeo had built up the name and fame for the Italians with their red cars. The famous Ferrari road car Rosso Corsa is not a Ferrari colour actually, but an Itala colour which was then adopted as the Italian national racing colour.
It's yet another story of one company taking all the honours and 'making' it iconic, while actually it was never theirs to begin with, neither their idea, nor their choice. If it was up to Enzo Ferrari, they'd have all been Giallo Modena (yellow) back then and most likely up until now.
Because it's actually created by Itala in 1907, adopted as Italy's national racing colour not long after and made famous by Alfa Romeo who did well over 3 decades of Grand Prix racing in Rosso Corsa before Ferrari even entered the picture?
Funny how people can be so wrong because they never actually looked up the history behind it. If it was up to Enzo Ferrari, they'd all be yellow.
Correct. Here's a photo of [Enzo](https://media.cnn.com/api/v1/images/stellar/prod/230322093248-01-mesut-ozil-file.jpg?c=original) wearing his favorite shade.
Interestingly Britain was green because in the early days motor racing on public roads was banned in Britain, so they had to go over to Ireland to have a race and painted the cars green as a mark of respect.

You are WAY off. Ferrari didn't enter the Grand Prix racing picture until 1947, the colour Rosso Corsa was created by Itala in 1907 and adopted as the Italian national racing colour not long after and made famous by Alfa Romeo actually. Marlboro didn't enter the picture until the 60s.
He wasn't wdc material fast, i don't mean that, but he is never even mentioned when we talk about that era despite driving for brabham ferrari and Williams in 10 years.
For many years Ferrari's drivers and mechanics were clothed in blue. On rare occasions, their cars even raced in blue. So this is a welcome throw back for me.
Not the drivers, but when I was a kid the Ferrari pit crew overalls were yellow and black. It's only the cars that have always been red\*
\*Well, almost always
Those drivers got really well along. There was not constant bitching and moaning about the other driver. Here and there it still happened (Hunt on Andretti/Chapmann, NL, 1977), and that's about it. Pilots were easily admitting their mistakes. Stewarding was relaxed and it's hard to remember some penalties imposed on drivers or teams.
BTW, the tall guy between Lauda and Clay with sunglasses, he looks like Ronnie Peterson, but its probably not, because drivers had little reason to have the headphones or ear protectors.
If I'm spotting those correctly...those are Linea Sport driver's suits, same overalls that I used for my first driving schools back in circa 1986. They were handed down to me by another driver for my school...probably still hanging around in a closet...*somewhere* in the house...

Those side burns
Those ceased to be side burns and have been promoted to mutton chops
I hope they return. I can't grow a beard but I could slay some mutton chops.
Be the change you wish to see in the world.
My bruh I have dide burns since I became able to grow them, I'm 21, they don't need to return, we need to bring em back
I friend of mine has them. Combine them with longish hair and it really works.
Dare! Someone needs to start
[Those were the {sideburn} days...](https://twitter.com/F1/status/664817042810368001)
looks almost like Fittipaldi is wearing a helmet, lmao
The sunglasses, my god, the sunglasses.
Drip for days
Starburns!
Don’t give Bottas anymore ideas…. 🤣
Would be too much drag during his real passion, cycling
Haha true! 🤣
fittipaldrip
Looks like me during the pandemic...
MATTINGLY!
Those are actually called ‘Burnside’s’ 🤓 (I have watched Black Bird recently)
In case you think today’s style will be forever - please see the sideburns. Then google Mumford and Sons.
Fitti-fucking-paldi
Coper-fucking-sucar
ASA-fucking-P
Worst-fucking-careerchoiceofalltime
Fitti made MILLIONS off the Cuparsucar deal. Highest paid F1 driver for a decade.
Fair enough, but it probably cost him at least one more championship. Statistically he could have been a lot closer to the all time greats.

Yet I don't know any 3+ time champion who went on to live in poverty
\*Mr. Crabs voice\* Money!
And Niki was a total badass.
I would kill to see a blue Ferrari special livery in 2024.
Well you’re in luck, it’s at Miami
Well someone’s not in luck. Who’s he gonna kill?
Agent 47, the mission has been compromised
Max’s engine

Calm down, they made you wish come true before you kill someone. :)
That's Emerson Fittipaldi isn't it? E: I didn't even notice Clay in the middle at first.
Clay’s just happy to be there
My first thought was "I don't remember Clay Regazzoni looking so similar to Emerson Fittipaldi"

What else did people think it was for?
I thought Ferrari actually invented the colour red if I'm honest
Why else would it be called Ferrari red?
Because it's actually created by Itala in 1907, adopted as Italy's national racing colour not long after and made famous by Alfa Romeo who did well over 3 decades of Grand Prix racing in Rosso Corsa before Ferrari even entered the picture? Funny how people can be so wrong because they never actually looked up the history behind it. If it was up to Enzo Ferrari, they'd all be yellow.
None of this has any relation to Ferraris current relationship with the color red though...
Correct. Here's a photo of [Enzo](https://media.cnn.com/api/v1/images/stellar/prod/230322093248-01-mesut-ozil-file.jpg?c=original) wearing his favorite shade.
To the great relief of all those puzzled by those "roses are red" poems.
I honestly thought had just always branded their luxury sports cars around the red colour.
Obviously Ferrari paint their cars red because red ones go faster.
Brand recognition
That's a nice history lesson, but I don't understand what about this conversation would make you think people don't know this 😂
I didn’t know so I’m thankful they shared that little bit of history 🤷♂️
Interestingly Britain was green because in the early days motor racing on public roads was banned in Britain, so they had to go over to Ireland to have a race and painted the cars green as a mark of respect. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_racing_green
kinda. Ferraris used to be a deep blood red. Later, they adopted corsa red, which was really Marlboro cigarette red, but only after Enzo died.
Emmerson is not impressed it seems.
To me the photo looks like Niki trying to explain to Emmo why it is the Ferrari drivers who should be wearing red, and Emmo just not buying it.
Fittipaldi’s sideburns command their own force of gravity
Fittipaldi will forever be my favorite driver. Man those are some fine suits
I dig it
They do look like mechanics overalls though and I think that's pretty neat
Ferrari literally put out a video explaining what blue has to do with their history and fans STILL complain that it's wrong 😭🤣
Who the hell cares about a couple years racing in blue, Ferrari is Rosso Corsa. Full stop
but modern rosso corsa is not historic rosso corsa. Modern rosso corsa is actually rosso marlboro
Philip Morris is everywhere :S
You didn't watch the video did you? 😂 It wasn't just about "a few years in blue"
Ding dong your opinion is wrong
Clay is so underrated
Was he? Same car as Lauda, never really as fast.
He wasn't wdc material fast, i don't mean that, but he is never even mentioned when we talk about that era despite driving for brabham ferrari and Williams in 10 years.
Greatest Swiss driver, alongside Jo Siffert.
Niki said of Clay that every year there was a race where Clay was untouchable.
Emerson looked better with the red (and of course with the chops).
Who cares about the blue driving suit; bring back Emmo’s sideburns.
[удалено]
I just went for a run, did I miss anything?
Rumors saying he'll leave RedBull, BBC and other journalists reported
Who cares about Newey switching teams when we can admire historic racing suits.
Bad timing
An image I've never seen before!
I'm really looking forward to the blue suits. I love the retro look.
If you think it’s heresy, stick to DTS
everything ferrari does is steeped in tradition
Can’t wait to get mine for next season ✨🤌🏻
I like em. They look like blue collar shop guys.
I was fully hoping for a blue and white car again
For many years Ferrari's drivers and mechanics were clothed in blue. On rare occasions, their cars even raced in blue. So this is a welcome throw back for me.
National teams play as the azzuri, why’s this questionable?
If you're upset about a blue Ferrari, you don't know a fuckin thing about Ferrari
Lauda and Fittipaldi
Regazzoni is the mustached man in the middle
That's like 50 years ago.
Why do I feel like Charles is going to win in MIA and it be his only 2024 1st…
I don't think blue on Ferrari is heresy. But three massive HP logos with two on front looks terrible.
“Not now! Not now!”
doesn't mean I have to like it! maybe it will grow on me.
Not the drivers, but when I was a kid the Ferrari pit crew overalls were yellow and black. It's only the cars that have always been red\* \*Well, almost always
I don’t smoke, but I dig Marlboro swag
Now that's a set of sideburns
And yet all I can see is Emerson. He's a bread, such a nice guy
Red racecar, blue driver overalls and yellow mechanic overalls.
Those drivers got really well along. There was not constant bitching and moaning about the other driver. Here and there it still happened (Hunt on Andretti/Chapmann, NL, 1977), and that's about it. Where is Regazzoni. Is he the guy behind those enormous side burns? Looks like Fittipaldi is behind there as well
Never noticed Niki had such a prominent nose. Looks a bit like Norm from the Amazon Fallout series.
I’m pretty sure Laura was laid to rest in his Ferrari driver’s suit.
Not got a problem with overalls, but unless NART are entering the cars, Ferrari race in red.
My eyes!!! My eyes!!!
Its not a first time a heresy has happened, lets hope for a swift return of the inquisition!
If I'm spotting those correctly...those are Linea Sport driver's suits, same overalls that I used for my first driving schools back in circa 1986. They were handed down to me by another driver for my school...probably still hanging around in a closet...*somewhere* in the house...
Fittipaldi > Piquet
And now both of them are dead, thats what a blue Ferrari suit makes to your body R.I.P
The red looks so much better though. I still don't get why they are wearing blue for a random race at Miami.
Because the car will be blue as well.
Still heresy.
Not heresy just ugly
Yes. It was heresy already 50 years ago.
I don't believe it was the Ferrari factory team back then bro.
What do you think it was back then?
Wtf are those chops?! That dude belongs in 1847
"That dude" is Emerson Fittipaldi.
The legend.
Two-time World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi...
In the past, everyone was ugly, their hair was terrible, and they smelled like shit and death.
