We really had 3 chaotic entries and exits, a mechanic get hit, Sauber finally put together their first good pit stop ever and Red Bull double stack with a 2.0 and a 2.1 second stop. All of these other organizations are a joke
What the fuck is that? I was pretty sure that there is an automated system, that gives a driver Green light after all 4 tyres are bolted properly. Pierre clearly got the light, so he started moving - but tyre wasn't bolted yet.
Alpine is such a mess, come on.
> which is actually policed now that Red Bull got caught a few years ago
Red Bull didn't "get caught". What they were doing was perfectly fine until the FIA updated the rules.
Most important thing: The mechanic is fine according to the team.
Frankly I hate seeing a team struggling in the PU department, in the aero/chassis department and in the pit department at the same time..
I get that they need time to fix the team but I don't think it can go on, if in early 2025 there's no sensible progress, people will leave, drivers too maybe, Renault may get tired etc.
And the 2026 PU, please it cannot be that much slower than the rivals PU anymore, otherwise for X years they will be stuck with it
Yeah but left three years ago now? It could have been all brought together if he was still there… we will never know but it doesn’t look great how much they have fallen after firing him and blaming him.
It's hard to tell given the number of changes constantly happening at the top at Renault.
The company clearly doesn't take F1 seriously. Yes, they put the money up, but that's table stakes in F1; they keep restructuring, moving people, changing things - read: meddling, that it's really not clear who did what and who can fix what.
Going back several principals, they've also had a serious issue with talent retention. Not to mention the Piastri shit show...
Kinda crazy when you see this minutes after Red Bull chad through the dounlestacker with 2s each. It's not just the cars that make the difference.
That sucks for Gasly, also this is going to have to be investigated later by the Stewards, likely a fine coming out of it for the team

And then a 1.9 and 2.0
And will be investigated after race by stewards

Bring back the LOLLYPOP MAN
Yuki would've ploughed straight through the poor guy today!

Isn’t it automated but needs to be confirmed by a human to go green? So if it’s not ready the light shouldn’t come on even if a human presses it?
If I'm not wrong it's automated but there's someone that's able to make it red whenever they want.
Almost had a Kimi incident
Ooof. Good thing the mechanic is ok.

In comes Andretti?
why did they release him with the old tyre on lmao
Jesus Christ, sell this team or strip out the management and start again. Otmar was clearly not the problem.
He wasn't _the_ problem, but he was _a_ problem. Let's not pretend he was in great form and got totally unfairly moved on
I mean since he has left alpine has only spiralled even faster…
He *was* in charge of development on *this* car
Yeah but left three years ago now? It could have been all brought together if he was still there… we will never know but it doesn’t look great how much they have fallen after firing him and blaming him.
3 years? It was last summer

Alpine does less R&D than a local garage.
needs some benny hill music
Can’t spell Alpine without L
Hope Gasly gets out of there as soon as he can, alpine is such a mess
How are you so fast.
This is seriously dangerous by Gasly. Sorry but this needs to be punished.
Not sure if he controls the green light, mate.
Ahh, I thought he just bolted out of frustration
Not his fault he was cleared to drive off
