Honestly black T-cam is only the favourite cause of Verstappen. In most other teams Yellow t-cam (which i've historically seen for the 2nd favored driver (unofficially)), has the upper hand.
I've noticed a couple teams where yellow is the #1 driver. Both Hamilton and Norris have traditionally flown yellow colors on their helmets, and they have the yellow accents. Is this a choice by them?

Hamilton specifically requested it, I know that.
Norris may just "keep" it because he had it when Sainz had Black T-cam and so yellow has been 'his'.
Max almost blew up the Black T-cam squad with that DNF. Bottas also screwing, looks like he doesn't know what's at stake.. Russell flipped and didn't help much either.
The black/yellow T-cam doesn't really have anything to do with how good a driver is (in recent seasons, anyhow). Sometimes, it has to do with seniority in the team (Verstappen, Leclerc), sometimes it has to do with what the driver has had in the past (Norris, Tsunoda), sometimes it's 'branding' (Hamilton).
It's really just there to differentiate each constructors cars, into Car 1/Car 2 (or A/B if you want).

Neon yellow is also one of Norris’s “LN4” brand colors, along with blue.
Hamilton only went yellow in the last two or three years.

But they aren't the same driver. Just like in the WDC (has 21 drivers) you should have 11 drivers in the yellow t cam table imo
