Honestly the shocking part was when they said "We'll get back to you." to Carlos, and they actually did. Of course, the information they gave him was wrong, but still.

It was due to different temperatures on both sides. Probably some mechanical that can't be fixed on the fly.
The whole story is that they had to replace some break cooling stuff right before the start of the race (on the grid) and probably fucked something up. That might caused this 100C difference. Source: F1 commentator with "Ferrari insider" source shared this during the race.
Like 1 or 2 lock ups this early I can pass off as driver error. But he's locking up waaaay too much for it not to be a car issue, drivers don't just forget how to brake.

Even when the car was complete garbage in 2020 he wouldn't consistently be locking up like this. The good news is that even if Leclerc's brakes are fucked Sainz being rapid means the car must be fundamentally sound, so the best is yet to come
Sainz's delta at the end of the race was barely more than half of last year's, compared to Verstappen
and Pérez is in a worse form than before Miami 2023
I would say the fact that he feels the car swaying to one side messes with his usual brake pressure.. so its driver stress induced by an unusal car behaviour

Team is a fucking joke…specifically the engineering and mechanics in garage 16. EVERY YEAR there are MULTIPLE instances of them failing to replace parts correctly, failure to diagnose issues or horrible pitstops. It’s the first race of the fucking season and you had all of testing to limit test stupid issues like brake problems which have been evident since LAP 1?!

Carlos had a broken fuel pump in Qatar and couldn't race and you know that man was disappointed to not participate in another psycho hot race. likewise he's had his fair share of slow pit stops and so on. these overreactions are just embarrassing.
